Bustling café with amazing sandwiches and a great vibe

32 Lakes Café & Bakery is a lively spot—always buzzing with customers and staff working hard behind the counter. The open-concept kitchen is a nice touch, letting you watch all the food being freshly prepared, which adds to the overall experience.

I had one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted here—served on a multigrain bun with local ingredients, it was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. Definitely a standout. On the flip side, the croissant was overly buttery and felt a bit too greasy for my taste. Coffee was just average and came in a small cup, especially considering the price.

That said, options in the area are limited, and this place still stands out for its energy and food quality. I’d definitely come back and try more next time I’m in town.

The best coffee I’ve had in a while! The sweet treats are delicious, the atmosphere is clean and modern. The gem of Powell River! Will definitely be back. Because coffee this good is hard to come by these days!

The food is all made in house! The coffee is high quality, the cafe itself is perfect for meeting friends, doing some laptop work or chillin solo. The staff were super friendly.

Perfect place to meet up with friends, study or do some work. Could get quite busy even on weekdays and parking on the street or behind the lot may be tough. Good coffee though and definitely worth it!

Despite being one of the few bakery cafes in Powell River, 32 Lakes doesn't slack on quality of food or service and is easily on par with the best cafes in Vancouver.

I tried a variety of their sweet and savoury pastries across two consecutive mornings and they were all fantastic; I'd be happy to return to Powell River just to visit this spot!

This is where you go in Powell River for coffee and baking. Oh my goodness. Everything was perfect. My cortado was amazing, the rhubarb twists were divine, and the art and design of the seating areas made you feel like you were sitting on the ocean. Amazing that a small city like Powell River has a high end cafe and bakery like this. The lineups out the door are well earned. This place is a MUST stop.

This is an absolute must stop in Powell River. The croissants are absolutely amazing. Me and my boyfriend tried the maple bacon and cheese, caramel apple and pecan, and nettle and feta croissants. We were in LOVE with this bakery before we walked in we were hit with the intoxicatingly delicious scent of baked goods. As we entered, I could see the croissants from the kitchen getting ready to be in my belly!

You can tell the croissants are made with the labour of love of the chefs here. You can definitely taste the level of care that was put into making their croissants.

My only complaint is I wish they had things clearly labeled in their bakery case of what’s available. I arrived just before 9am just as the croissants were coming out. As a I left I think I heard another item coming out too. So I’m not sure if coming right when they open is best as they had so much more to offer later! But I’m sure it’s all delicious anyway.

Open concept kitchen is beautiful and different than your regular cafe. Staff super friendly and the walnut brownie was so good. My niece said her cheesecake was a 10/10. Family loved their drinks as well.
