I was recommended this place by a friend who really likes sushi and I was completely blown away! I had the special nigiri omakase. It was $400 for 2 people but completely worth it. Each piece was very special and although I didn't like every piece, I can definitely appreciate the variety. My favorite piece by far was the aburi black cod at the end of the meal. This place has become my favorite sushi restaurant, at least for 2024. Definitely worth a try!

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and chose the premium omakase. Everything was spectacular!

It is a small, family-run restaurant operated by a husband and wife. The wife was so kind and lovely; she explained every dish thoroughly.

The quality of each dish was amazing, and we were so full by the end of the meal! Although it was quite pricey, we thought it was definitely worth it and would definitely go back.

This is now my favorite sushi restaurant! I can't wait to return!

I write this review a couple hours after finishing the meal service, second day in 2025, still a bit in awe. Typically get my sushi fix in Japan yearly, with a trip soon planned for this year, I was under no expectation that a hole the wall restaurant in Cochrane, Alberta, of all places would serve me kinki straight from Hokkaido. If Alberta end up having Michelin stars one day, this place will have it. Its quality rivals some of the best omakase I've enjoyed over the years across Tokyo, Kansai and Kyushu. In my opinion, this is not only the best sushi restaurant in Alberta, but all of Canada.

The premium omakase considering its repertoire of ingredients, is a very reasonable price at $200. Not only does it include the aforementioned kinki, other Hokkaido region delicates such as uni and scallop also grace the table. Other regional specialties such as the A5 Miyasaki wagyu and Okinawa mozuku. Together, the omakase experience was a symphony of local delicacies from all over Japan. The chef almost came across as a master chef hiding in the mountains, half way across the world, to serve Canadian locals some of the best Japan has to offer. In addition to the above amazing dishes, some of my favorite selections included the mini chirashi, a beautiful fushion of otoro and chutoro, and the always appreciated botan ebi with the fried head. Furthermore, the amadai was such a delight, with its edible scale that added a fantastic texture to the expertly cooked fish. The Miyasaki wagyu paired with a beautifully seared cod, under some smokey flavour, was not only presented magically, but also tasted like a one-two punch palette pleaser.

It is such a pleasure that I have found this place in my backyard. I will for sure be a regular for as long as they operate.

This was the best sushi we’ve ever had! The quality and presentation was top notch. The service was fast, friendly and informative. We enjoyed the toro maki and salmon sashimi the most. The Jalapeño roll and saba aburi maki were also delicious.

This is easily one of the top sushi places Canada. The Ora King Salmon Toro sashimi was spectacular, and the saba sushi roll was brilliant.

What’s on the plate is in stark contrast to spartan decor, website, difficult reservation system, and the fact that you need to preorder certain dishes in advance by email.

But if you are here for the food, this place is worth the drive for sure. Their lunch special makes for an affordable way to try this place.

Exceptional dining experience and high quality food. We had the omakase dinner experience and everything was top notch. The owners and staff were super friendly and attentive throughout the meal, explaining each dish in detail as they came. Each course came shortly after finishing the last, the wait time between was never too long.

Beyond that, the food itself was remarkable. You can tell they take the time to source quality ingredients, this was one of the best Japanese meals I’ve had in the area. Definitely a must visit!

My friend booked a month ahead for a birthday lunch here. The staff are extremely hospitable and accommodating. The food was excellent! Everything was fresh tasting and wonderfully seafood-y (great for sushi enthusiasts). Each dish was served intentionally and we happily opted for an extra round of uni at the end.

Would love to visit again in the future!
