Excellent place to rest and relax, very quiet except for all the birds, it is so nice to sit and listen to them all. Our old dog loves it here, lots of room to roam and explore.

One of the most relaxing vacations I had in a long while. Fox Lake Retreat is quite remote, the nearest town, Hanna, is about a 10 min drive away. As a result the cabin we stayed in was so peaceful! The second cabin of the two was rented at the same time but that family went away on day trips so we had the whole place to ourselves.
Our dogs had plenty of space to run around and we were even able to take the body board onto the lake a couple of times.

The variety of birds and their songs made sitting on the balcony with a book and a beer the most tranquil experience.
The owners house is a short walk away and she made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed.

I will definitely stay again some day. Maybe bring some friends and rent both cabins.

A group of us booked the two cabins for our first " Girls Weekend Getaway", we had an amazing weekend!
The cabins were beautiful. Lots of room, clean and had everything that we needed.
The view was breathtaking!
We will definitely be back!!

We stayed there Dec6 for one night with our two young children. |The cabin was perfect for us, and way better than what you’d get at any hotel. Privacy & a home”y” feel. Well worth the money. ||There were two bedrooms- 1 room with a queen, and 1 room with two twins. It was perfect. The bedding was beautiful; (lovely duvets) and the rooms were clean. ||There was a full size fridge in our cabin; and a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Would be a perfect place for a quick getaway or a longer stay. ||The sunrise was absolutely beautiful, cabins face directly to the lake (which in our case was frozen over) but the sun comes up right over a hill that seems to block all the lights of Hanna out. Beautiful skies, and quiet nights.||Would recommend this place over and over. ||My only “con” would be there is only a stand up shower- no bathtub; but in a cabin on the lake, I kind of expected that.

What a great place. Had to stay in Hanna for business and found this little gem to stay at instead of one of the hotels that cater to crews in town. These cabins are only a couple minutes from town and WELL worth the very short drive. The one I stayed in was very clean, had all the necessities to cook your own meals including a BBQ. because of it's location it was also extremely quiet.I arrived as sunset and the view was stellar. Tammy was very friendly and helpful. I left groceries in the fridge, she gathered them up for me so that I would pick them up when my meetings were finished. I'll definitely be back.

Our three night stay at one of the Fox Lake Retreat cabins this past Victoria Day long-weekend was wonderful! We are very picky travelers and this clean, cozy, newish cabin and the owners made us feel right at home. Additionally, because the cabins are situated near a beautiful, large wetland, it is a bird lover's paradise, attracting all kinds of ducks, geese, shorebirds and native grassland birds. We had a blast hanging out at the cabin and taking a day trip to the badlands, Hoodoo Trail and the Royal Tyrrell museum, as it is about 45 minutes to Drumheller. We returned home with photos we took of the pronghorn, birds and landscapes we saw and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Fabulous friendly hosts, great location. Cabin had everything I needed and the view of the lake was excellent, my dog loved it way too much. And the people in the town of Hanna are so friendly it felt like home. I would recommend and hands down value for money.

If you want privacy & peace & quiet, then this is the place to stay. There is only 2 fully self-contained cabins here that overlook the lake. It is a short drive out of Hanna & the owners just live down the road, so you really have the whole place to yourself. My only complaint is that it was very Hot when we stayed here & only one fan worked. The ceiling fan really needed to be cleaned & they did come in & take out the garbage but nobody made the beds. BUT, I definitely would stay here again, maybe when it's not soo hot out! Also there is NO fish in this lake.
