We got a really private table in the back by the fireplace. It was nice and cozy. This was our first time here and it was absolutely fantastic. Food was good, service was great. Ordered a few things to share. I really liked the carne asada! The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Spicy margaritas were good too!

One of my top three places for authentic Mexican in Canada and the States. Great decorwith clean modern accessible bathrooms. Very very friendly owner with quality recommendations. Tons of gluten free options. Will stop here every time we go though High River.

Very warm welcoming host and had a quick chat about us and took his time to explain their menu and suggested a great food for our family. Food was great. Horchata drink was amazing I highly recommend, it was the first time I have tasted it was the right amount of sugar. Very clean. Based on what the waiter told me all food are made from locally grown vegetables and handmade drinks so I would definitely recommend.

We were passing through High River and looking for some lunch. As it was raining I took shelter under the portico of Rio Alto. Another lady outside said she often dined there and recommended it. Hubby and I went in and sat down. There were a few couples dining. After about 7 minutes, a man approached and threw 2 menus at our table. We were a bit shocked and thought about leaving. Thankfully we didn't, solely upon the lady's earlier recommendation. Eventually the man returned to explain the menu, make suggestions and take our order. He was clearly passionate about his food and it didn't disappoint. The prices were reasonable and the food came out quickly. We had a platter between us, which gave us 2 of several menu items. $29 for the platter, $12 for a margarita and $8 for a Corona. After the meal, the man came to chat with us again and we were able to thank him for our meal. It would have been nice to have some water offered. We would eat here again.

Friendly greeting, nice space, wood cieling and giant clay oven .free chips and two salsa and that salsa is maybe the freshest ive tried in Alberta or Ontario . The tacos came out on a plate, bakeds i think . I had chicken, beef and beans and a side nopales cactus salad. Salad was flavorful andfresh Tacos: beans were solid, initial chicken flavor was surprising... better than i expected, The beef flavor was deep, delicious, very glad i stopped in

Lasagna was great.
Play some Mexican music to liven the restaurant.
Owners are very friendly.
Extra hot sauce is $3 for about a half ounce. Wow…………

Mexican restaurant (not a franchise) located in a nice area of High River Downtown, serving food from Central Mexico. The food was great, flavourful, and nicely served. The owner and staff are very friendly, and the restaurant decoration makes you feel in Mexico. Prepare to spend between $20-30 pp. If you live in Calgary or Okotoks, visit High River and support local businesses. it's a short drive and you will find friendly people and nice areas for shopping and outdoor activities.

Was looking for a place to eat for my stop in High River during a drive. Food was great! Had the Chorinacho and 3 beef tacos. Service was amazing. It was my first time there and got a free sample of 2 salsas and chips - wish I took a bag of chips to go. Was also told some recommendations which was appreciated. Didn’t have to wait too long for the food and the atmosphere felt welcoming. Would go back again 🙂
