We wanted to special getaway for our wedding anniversary and this place was recommended. The house is beautiful and as we walked up the path through the garden we turned around and had a wonderful view of the bay. As soon as we walked into the house we were greeted by the owners Bruce and Craig and felt at home immediately, like we were visiting family. Our room was very comfortable and after we checked in were invited to sit on the patio and we had coffee and the most delicious cheesecake dripped with caramel. Fantastic. They also have a fine dinning restaurant and we had made reservation to have a anniversary dinner. Food was fantastic from the appetizer to the dessert. Bruce is an amazing chef and Craig is such an entertaining host. We had a great sleep, so comfortable and very quiet. One of the best anniversaries we ever had. Thank you both for a wonderful getaway.

We stayed at this B&B for 4 nights in late August,2020. We had the Baccalieu room with the King bed - very comfortable. The house has old-world charm and is clean and well-maintained. The breakfasts were very good. We also had our evening meals there twice and they were excellent. Both Bruce and Craig are chefs and are wonderful hosts as well. Carbonear is a good home base to explore the coast. We went up to Salmon Cove, Northern Bay and Bay de Verde - all worthwhile seeing. Great trip!

We stayed at the Baccalieu Trail B&B for two nights in the Baccalieu Room and had a wonderful stay. The hosts were so friendly and made us feel welcomed. The house is warm and has character, but also has modern amenities which kept us comfortable and impressed. The king bed in our room was quite firm which I preferred. The room was clean, offered toiletries and bath robes, and had a wonderful view of the water. The house is situated up off the road so the rooms on the front, and the flowered garden at the front of the house, have nice views and feel removed from the main street. Chef made a nice breakfast with tasty, hot coffee. We were able to explore Carbonear easily from this location as it's just down the road from the Stone Jug restaurant, shops, and the waterfront boardwalk. It also made a good rest point for a family wedding we attended in nearby Harbour Grace.

So glad that we booked the Baccalieu Trail B&B.||The inn is a beautiful old mansion that has been converted from three bedrooms and one bathroom on the upper floor to several en suite guest rooms. ||The gardens are a delight and the inn is situated in an ideal location to use as a base for exploring the nearby towns and villages or hiking. We booked three nights to do exactly that. ||The old village of Carbonear is undergoing a renovation complete with cobbled roadways. ||Bruce was a wonderful host and did a splendid job of sharing tips on where to go and local Newfoundland lore - I could has listened to him for hours and wish my husband and I could have had a one-on-one tour with him around the region for a few days! Our quick breakfast conversations just gave us a taste for wanting to learn more.||The bed in the Baccalieu Suite was very comfortable and the linens were lovely. It was convenient and thoughtful having a surge bar on either side of the bed to plug in our multiple electronics each night - thank you. Flat-screen TV and a well-stocked coffee/tea station. Good wifi connection!||The bathroom was large and well appointed, good water pressure and I appreciated having a big spa tub to soak in every evening (I chose not to use the jets). Plenty of towels.||A good sized refrigerator was in the closet, lots of hangars and TWO luggage racks!||Re the dining rooms:||There were three choices for the hot breakfast, plus cold cereals and pastries. Bruce was generous in filling my thermos with hot tea each day before we left to go exploring - much appreciated.||We had dinner at Baccalieu on our first night - and as is customary for B&Bs in this area, the dinner is pre-fixe and pre-ordered. Our dinners were lovely - the lamb shank was extremely tender and well seasoned, and the duck was as well. The service (Bruce) was professional and well-timed. ||We truly enjoyed our three-night stay and hope to have a chance to return to do it again

I cannot say enough good things about this venue. My only regret is that we were here for only one night. Craig and Bruce are superb hosts and really know how to spoil their guests. Their attention to detail is really exceptional. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The dining areas and breakfast area are just lovely. We had dinner in the dining room and the meal was the best we've had on the island. Breakfast was just wonderful; homebaked goods, homemade jams and generous portions. But most of all it was about Craig and Bruce themselves. They are generous, kind, thoughful people who were just a pleasure to get to know. We'll be back here for sure.

I have to say this outstanding B&B is beyond words. Customer service was outstanding the meal fit for Kings and Queens . Chef Bruce lay out the most amazing meal off Prime Rib an array off vegetables melody to finish off with a mouth watering creamy chocolate cheese cake dripping in creamy sauce. We were treated with such care from Craig the host who proved to have more knowledge off the quaint community off Carbonear that any tourist guide. We will arrange another stay in near future

One of the best B&Bs we've ever stayed at. Bruce and Craig have a real passion for this business and it shows in everything they do. They are friendly and engaging. There is an amazing attention to detail and everything about this place says class. If you are looking for a luxury get away where you will be pampered with a high quality product not only in the food but in the amenities, this is the place for you.
