The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I stayed here for a month and I work nights and the staff made sure not to wake me up or disturb me. They were able to clean my room for me when I was out instead. I would highly recommend staying here. I always felt safe coming in late after work and with my car parked outside. Never had a problem with noise or other people. It's very quiet and peaceful and close to all amenities. Weekly and monthly rates were great and they've got kitchenettes and that.

Room 103 is too close to the front desk/reception and sound proofing is so minimal that you would be woken up when people enter the lobby at night time and you can clearly hear the receptionist when they answer the phone. It is also directly across from the breakfast room. The bed is also not comfortable and has a plastic waterproof mattress cover. It makes the bed really crinkly and not breathable. However, they do have sufficient parking around back and it is in a good location. If you don't mind the bed and get a room away from the lobby, they offer a good price.

This is my second visit to Fort McMurray and both times, I have stayed at this hotel. My first experience at Ace Inn was not as great. The only reason I came back the second time was because of the relatively cheap prices. During my most recent business trip, however, I've noticed a significant amount of changes, which is essentially why I am writing this review. The room I stayed at was very clean and quiet, which was exactly what I was looking for. The location is fantastic as it is in the heart of downtown (malls, city hall, etc). Comparing it to my first stay at the hotel awhile back, I've noticed that the room I stayed at did not carry any smoke odours and most importantly, they serve hot breakfast, which was very convenient, as I usually do not have much time to eat in the morning. These new changes brought to Ace Inn really exceeded my expectations during my second visit. I would definitely recommend it to those who are simply looking for a cheap and clean place to stay.

A VERY NICE HOTEL

ACE INN Is a very nice hotel. Their management and front desk staff were EXCELLENT at check in, check out and in-between times when i had questions. The room, and restroom was very clean and orderly.Management and staff tended to my every need with a professional and courteous demeanor. Very accommodating they were. The breakfast was nice as well with an assortment of cereals, EXCELLENT COFFEE, eggs, sausage, and yogurts. The location is also very nice as it is situated in the downtown core of Fort McMurray with a casino, fast foods, and a mall all in walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel . A very pleasant experience it was.

According to my son who's been living there for almost 2 years we were told that this hotel is considered to be "in the hood" of Fort McMurray but we didn't feel that it was a dangerous area. The hotel and the rooms are a bit out dated but functional and clean. The gentleman who manages the front there and works there during the days is an oriental fellow and is NOT very friendly AT ALL and if you go ask him something you most definitely disturb him every single time. If you even try to say hi to him guess what you disturb him again. I really don't understand why this kind of people work in direct contact with clients if they can't stand people. Find a different type of job!!! The rest of the staff is mostly very pleasant. The 2 people working the night shift almost made us miss our flight back home. We asked them for a wake up call but they never called us. Luckily I woke up on time not to miss our flight otherwise we would have had to pay for another one. They have a fairly good breakfast which is a bit repetitive but it does the job.

My husband and I were in Ft Mac for an extended period for work, and there was very little vacancy in any hotel that was affordable, so we gave this place a try... Big mistake, this hotel is disgusting. The rooms are dirty, the beds are awful, and there is non stop partying and bizarre behaviour. We had a completely sleepless night one evening before having to work the next day, because of drunk guests who "accidentally" knocked on our door all night (then ran off giggling like kids) This is a surprisingly bad hotel. Several times I referred to it as being like a saloon hotel from a bad western movie. There was something spilled/vomited on the floor in the stairway that was there the entire time we were there. It may still be there now, it wouldn't surprise me. I found garbage under the bed...there was grease in the wall in the kitchenette. I bought my own blankets in order to feel safe sleeping in that bed. Seriously....do not stay here. Just. Awful.

Okay, so this place was decently clean, but very poorly managed. I booked off of Expedia, and there it did not state that there was absolutely no staff on site after 11. So I assumed, like most hotels, you can just check in when you get there. I was wrong. The manager calls me at 11 and mansplains to me to come now to get the key and go back. I tell him if I leave the event I came to attend (a 4 person important event) I wouldn't return. It wouldn't be worth the 20 min drive each way. He did put my key in a place I could find it when I came back, which thankfully was still there. While I was at the event, I had food that activated my allergies and made me sick. Gross, yes I know. I did my best to clean up after myself, however there wasn't much there to work with. I had to use the towels. When I went to check out, he mansplained to me again how being sick stained towels and how you are only supposed to use them for showering. I explained to him that the food had made me sick and asked what else I should have done in that scenario. To which he responded with call 911. He would have rather me called 911 than be at his hotel and not leave it pristine. I get that me being sick was gross. If he would have shown an ounce of concern for me and stopped the mansplaining, I would have happily paid for the towels. Even when I told him I had been sick, his response was that it wasn't his fault. Yes it wasn't, but he is the manager of this hotel, he sets the tone. If he has no ounce of concern for the people who stay here, he should probably leave the service industry.

If you stay here, don't. If you have to, bring your own towels and leave his. Save yourself the trouble.
