The front office is not easily found when walking into the building for the first time and the signage to find it was lacking.

The rooms are small but for the price I didnt expect much. The rooms look like they havent changed since the 80's and my toilet would refill its water tsnk loudly every 20mins.

I was given an uncleaned room on arrival and when I told the front desk about it I was easily given a different cleaned room that I had to move my stuff into.

The breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast with some hot hashbrowns and eggs though they were all stale and cold when I ate. The standard breakfast wouldnt be that bad except it was $15 and as I said cold and stale so I would not be paying to ewt here again.

The location is fantastic unlike everything else. I was in Edmonton to see a symphony at the UofA and the location was within walking distance which was a big plus.

Overall the hotel room is cheap but with $ for breakfast, $ for parking, and very dated rooms it's probably best to use a regular hotel that costs a little more as thr pricing will likely be the same for a better experience.

Dont trust the older reviews they are dated and dont reflect the current experience.

Conveniently located, and comfortable accommodation. I will definitely stay here again. Love the quick access to my meeting, the opportunity to walk green space, as well as close by (walking) to a variety of eating options. Great guest service check in experience, and an easy walk through the conference space to the guest rooms. As a solo female traveling, I feel at ease here. I also really enjoy being on the UofA campus as lots to see and do.

This was my second stay at Lister guest house. My daughter studies at Uofa and myself with my wife stayed at this property for almost a week. The best part is that the guest rooms were very close to the Lister residense where my daughter stays and we were like closely connected. The rooms were similar to that of hotel rooms and had all the basic amenities that of a 3 star hotel including house keeping services, 2 double beds, Led TV, mini refrigerator, ironing facility, coffe maker etc. The price was quite reasonable when compared to the hotel rooom and if you are on a visit to the University this is the right place to stay. I had an excellent stay and will definitely choose this again on my next visit.

I enjoyed staying on campus -- it's a beautiful area and very close to everything we needed. Our room was very comfortable (and quiet) and the provided toiletries were fantastic (the Centre's attention to detail in this small part of our experience shows a level of respect for their guests). The only thing I would have liked made clearer would be the hours for close food services. I didn't realize that the Booster Juice in the Marina on the ground floor opened later than the other kiosks, and trying to find breakfast at 6:30 on Saturdays and Sundays can be a bit of a challenge. However, we'll likely stay here again when we need to be in Edmonton, and I have recommended it to others.

I stay in Edmonton several times a year for work. This January I stayed a week at the hotel portion of Lister at a rate of $109 a night. These are located on the second floor of Lister just down the hall from the conference centre and the Lister dining centre. As my work was at the conference centre, I found the 1 minute walk down the hall commute incredibly convenient. No worrying about finding parking or travelling winter streets. The room was clean and large and came with a mini fridge, a desk, couch, and comfortable queen bed. Hot water pressure was fine and the building was very quiet. I had a couple of evenings when I stayed in and used the dining centre. For $16 this is the best deal in town. All you care to eat and drink. Incredible array of pizzas, pastas, salad bar, soups, chicken, beef, vegetarian and gluten free options. Yes, this is the student dining centre but is open to those using the hotel as well. Certainly not like the residence food the universities used to offer! ||Note, these are NOT the dorm rooms which are available in the summer months. I stayed in one of those once and the small bed was horribly uncomfortable. Yes it was cheaper at $75 a night but my aching back paid the price.

We planned to stay here because the attached conference centre was hosting the event that brought us to town. We were in the room for under 5 minutes before we sought other accommodation. It was 30°C outside and 28°C in the room. No AC. I thought maybe blowing the fan over ice from the machine down the hall might help. The machine was broken.||||This place might be fine in the winter but don't even think about it in the heat.||||And the conference centre was HOT, too. I don't know how they get summer bookings.

Overall, a nice place to stay. Room is spacious. Lister dining hall is connected. The campus has a great atmosphere. There are minor improvements that are needed. The bathroom floor has hair. Some of the pillow cases are ripped.
