Si vous aimez le calme, la simplicité et la chaleur humaine, vous êtes au bon endroit. |D'abord le cadre: en dehors de la ville, une vue magnifique sur la vallée et la forêt, que vous pourrez apprécier directement de votre lit.|Ensuite la maison, avec un étage avec salle de bain consacré aux hôtes. Que vous soyez deux, une famille ou un petit groupe d'amis, Laverne et Gordon tiennent à ce qu'il soit tout entier à votre disposition.|La maison regorge de témoignages de la vie de ses propriétaires, et nous avons eu plaisir à bavarder avec Laverne pendant le petit déjeuner.|Petit déjeuner délicieux avec des produits "maison".|Même si certains éléments de décoration sont un peu poussiéreux, nous y avons rencontré un vrai esprit de chambre d'hôtes.

We can’t say enough about the rooms, service or location. This was our first visit to Cape Breton Island, Laverne was an amazing hostess. We spent 12 nights on the Room with a View (beautiful view) and breakfasts were always something different and delicious. The conversations we had everyday were very informative as well. Would highly recommend a visit with Laverne!!!

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. Laverne is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is excellent and Laverne caters for your requests , without any trouble. This is one of the best b&b's of our Canadian road trip. If you love a good old fashioned b&b this is the one too chose.

Staying at the Baddeck Riverside B&B on the first night of our vacation set us up for pure relaxation.
Laverne made us feel welcome and looked after, such a beautiful person! Her cozy, vintage house is well maintained, spotless and comfortable.
The breakfast was perfect! Just right, blueberry pancakes, fruit and coffee. We would have stayed another night but our family beckoned. Definitely will be staying again very soon.

Having been lucky enough to travel to quite a few countries and stay in a wide variety of accommodations, we found staying with Laverne at the Baddeck Riverside B&B to be one of the best experiences that we have ever had. Her pleasantness, attention to details, knowledge, and genuine interest in getting to know you, made her stand out as the example of what other B&B operators should aspire to be! |Eating her home cooked breakfasts (better than any restaurant ever!) sitting in front of the windows overlooking the Cape Breton highlands and the beginning of the Cabot Trail area added to the quality of the experience. Located along a quiet road, you could hear a pin drop at night. This is the perfect spot if you enjoy some piece and quiet on your journey. |Laverne's home is beautiful and we felt very comfortable staying there. This is where we will be staying again, the next time that we go back to Cape Breton.

We stayed 3 nights with Laverne and Gordon and couldn't possibly have had better hosts or a better place to stay! The B&B is a few miles/kilometers from town near the end of a long dead end road, in the most tranquil and beautiful setting. We were given the entire upstairs of this beautiful old house that Gordon had lovingly restored and made much of the furniture. Laverne prepared scrumptious breakfasts each morning, and we delighted in hearing hearing their wonderful stories and sharing in conversations. |Anyone planning to visit this area should make every effort to stay here. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, and actually regretted not booking longer as there was so much to see and do and it was so comfortable. I also just wanted to stay another week or two in their lovely cottage by the river. The sunsets were fantastic and the trout just taunted me as I never got the time to get on the river. We had super delicious breakfasts with great variety, .and just loved chatting around the table with Gordon and Laverne. They make you feel like their home is your home and we were amazed at the things Gordon has accomplished over his life. Great stories and history of their house and area also enchanted us. The walk to their cottage and along the river was short but beautiful. The 'cottage' was super and we would return to say in it and enjoy the solitude of nature and the river. The location is great for those looking for a 'countryside' and peaceful location, and yet just a 5-7 minute drive back to town. We met their dog Jessie, a very friendly fellow who loves the company. I rate this establishment and it's hosts as a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10 and highly recommend all travelers stay there if in the area. We just can't say enough to praise Gordon and Laverne and their home. We hope to be back, this time with my fishing gear!!

We recently spent 3 nights here. The breakfasts were excellent and a nice variety. There was plenty of home grown berries and homemade jams. Both Gordon and Laverne are excellent cooks. We had interesting and informative conversations with them concerning the local area and history. Both were a wealth of knowledge. The house and rooms were very comfortable and we felt at home. Jessie, the loveable dog, also welcomed us. It is a short drive to town but well worth it for the peaceful and beautiful countryside.
