Had the opportunity to check out a new movie theater the other night and I was not disappointed. With the dubious distinction of one of the most northern movie houses in Alberta, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the seats and the mix of high tech sound equipment carefully mixed into the feel of a classic movie house.

I contacted the theater by social media to check on showings and was promptly messaged back by (I assume) one of the owners. A great conversation later and I had all the info I needed for a night out later that evening.

Once at the location, the staff was pleasant and engaging. The smell of freshly popped popcorn filled the entrance way and welcomed us to the theater.

Albeit a small one screen house, the seats were comfortable, accommodating and with pleanty of knee room for my 6'5" frame, and I am always glad when that happens!

If I had to pick any one point to bring forth I would just say the theater got pretty cold about half way through the movie, but a staff member was attuned to that and turned up the heat.

So, a great night out, glad to check out the theater and I will definitely recommend this theater to anyone that is interested in what a night out at the movies was like in its golden years. Sure, the new theaters have all the glitz, glamour and shine but nothing beats the intimacy of a classic movie house.. kudos gang, you have nailed it!

I really enjoy this old theater. Lots of memories seeing every movie they would bring in over the summers. Nostalgia may make the rating higher but really it shows movies, has snacks and is the only theater within 100kms.
