Absolutely delightful, every time I’ve been in this little oasis of calm and beauty in an unexpected location (the main floor of the Tawa Centre, a mostly medical building, across from the Grey Nuns Hospital).

A glass case of fresh and beautifully presented cakes and generously sized, amazingly flavoured croissants greets you upon entering. They have a large selection of hot and cold specialty coffee and teas and other drinks… and if you eat in, they’re served with a tiny delicious cookie (see pic). I’ve yet to try any of their savoury offerings, but one day…

I’ve eaten or sampled from a friend’s plate, all of the menu items I’ve recommended — and would order any of them again, but why, when there are so many new things to try!

Sweet Castle Bakery feels very much like a European bakery experience … The service, the quality and presentation of food and drinks, china and real cutlery and the subtle background music.

Apologies to Sonia and team for the pic I’ve included… my husband and I shared a lightly warmed chocolate hazelnut croissant and a pistachio filled croissant, with London Fogs to drink. While you can see the tea, the tiny cookie and the pretty china and cutlery, you’ll have to imagine how beautiful the two halves of the croissants looked before “the devouring” of said delights occurred.

Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this gem, 100%

For the first glance it looks like I'm at a cafe in Paris , tried Pistachio Croissant and coffee , it was outstanding . All in all a great experience, will come back to try other stuff too .5 stars to the staff too. Really appreciate the kind gestures and smile Sonia .

Amazing little hidden game, the bakery items are amazing. We had the carrot cake and 100% recommended. Our friends had gluten free cookies that were also amazing and wrapped to make sure no contamination.

The chai latte was delicious and a must buy, really can't go wrong with this place.

Get the latte, half sweet, paired with an almond croissant. Best in the city! their almond croissant is even better than duchess bakery. And I LOVE duchess.

Pistachio croissant is super yum for when you have a bigger sweet tooth. But for something not too sweet, get the almond!!!

My favorite savoury sandwich there is the chicken cranberry walnut. It is bomb. Also is the perfect place for high tea. So much variety!!

What an incredible discovery! I am Celiac and was waiting at the hospital when I Googled the bakery so I figured I would pop in to see what they had to offer! What an absolutely delightful beautiful little shop! I tried the red velvet cake and it was out of this world delicious! And to top it off the wonderful Sonya was so helpful and wonderful! I would absolutely recommend stopping by I know I'll be back

This is my go to coffee spot. If anyone wants to meet on the South Side, I recommend Sweet Castle Bakery.
It is located in the Tawa Centre, and yes you have to pay for parking but it is worth it, I promise you.
The staff is friendly, helpful and always ready with a suggestion or 2 if you are having trouble deciding.
I love the chicken walnut cranberry brie sandwich. I get it heated up a bit and it is magical.
All of their desserts are amazing. I have never had a miss, no matter what I order. They have a whole bunch of Gluten Free Options from their French pastry chef. Wow, if I could give more stars I would. Try the chocolate mousse or the black forest cake.
On this visit I tried a new to me flavour of Latte.
Pistachio Latte! It completely blew me away. Warm, nutty flavors with no grittyness. I loved it! When my friend joined me, she agreed. Completely wonderful and it will definitely be my new regular. Even without sweetener it was delicious.
The atmosphere is pretty Parisian with French music playing on speakers, beautiful furniture and thin china plates.
I loved their interior sign as it looks like icing and rosettes. Very funky esthetic.
If I have one critic, it would be that they need a sign on the exterior door asking them to come in through the main entrance, as I have had to help many people by pointing when they came up and tried that door.

It's amazing the flavors and also the service i will back it's really peaceful and nice to be here. The opera cake have a balance flavor and the capuchinno is fabulous
