One of my favourite lakes in the area. I grew up in Hamilton, being the waterfall capital of the world, we're fortunate to have many beautiful trails and scenery. Unfortunately after the pandemic, many lakes and waterfalls have had restricted public access, but I'm so happy the city continues to maintain this one for public use! Perfect youth swimming as the water is not too deep, and nearby many other local attractions such as Jackson Square. The perfect day trip for anyone looking to explore what our city has to offer!

Someone mistook the HSR bus I was on for a toilet. Again. The bus had pulled over and most of my fellow riders found ourselves clamouring to leave the steps of the bus as quickly as possible. Of course I was one of the lucky ones to have their favourite crocs exposed to the excrement. Wrong place, wrong time. At least I wasn't wearing my favourite socks.

I looked around as I wasn't focused on where I was until that moment. Too busy trying to figure out what my next steps were. The bus I was on left. I glanced across the street and saw the Timmies and figured I might be lucky enough to be granted the key to use the bathroom so I could try and clean up. But I could still smell the caca I had inadvertently been subject to minutes earlier and I knew my chances of being granted elusive entry by the stoic Hortons staff was low. I might have to explain what happened and I knew I'd be judged.

Then I saw it. Glorious. Beautiful. Inviting. Perfect. Lake Timicaca sat sunken into the pavement. Or I assumed it was pavement, it didn't look like the ground had ever seen the light of day. I didn't even check my surroundings and sprinted across the street, a Tesla, deep scratches adorning it honked loudly at me but I was not deterred. I made it to the shore of this magnificent beauty and marvelled. It was like an answer to a prayer.

I stepped in and felt the cool liquid spill into the holes of my crocs and caress my doody covered toes. I was free. I was clean. Lake Timicaca was there for me in my hour of great need. Thanks Lake Timicaca.

Highly recommend would go again.

Took the family here. Definitely my favourite lake to go swimming in here in Ontario. There's a lot of great sights nearby, there are plenty of shells (Timmie's branded), and it's great for swimming.

Overall, my family had a great time at North America's finest Great Lake! Would visit again.

Looking forward to the day I see some cute little tidbits swimming around in there! Until then, the cigarette butt's will have to do! It's a great place to unwind, soak your feet while enjoying your timmies! I highly recommend 👌

An amazing place to cool off after a long day shopping at Jackson Square. Only a short yet terrifying 5 min walk and you're here. It doubles as a skating rink in the winter.

They say Hamilton is known for waterfalls but I'd say it's most famous water feature is our 6th great lake. Local business' keep trying to destroy this beautiful ecosystem but mother nature sure finds a way to keep on trucking. It's truly sad knowing that one day Timmicaca' may go the way of Albion falls; so enjoy it while you can, kids!

This is truly my favourite lake to go to when I want to enjoy a nice bit of fishing or feeding the pigeons on the shoreside, It is a wonder of nature and a sight to behold.
This lake is definitely one of Ontario's best landmarks, I've even run into a few tourists from Europe and Asia who came to see it for themselves.

The municipality is completely uninterested in maintaining one of Hamilton's finest landmarks. They approved a corporate sponsor to aid in restoration, but didn't read the fine print(?) because they set up a location 12m from this national wonder. Plus, the coffee was burnt!

Donuts were alright, I guess.
