We had the most delightful stay here the night before our Puffin Boat tour. The accommodations were comfortable. The pullout couch bed is actually really comfy, and we loved having a kitchenette. The shower was great!
But we loved most the location and supporting the family that runs the Puffin Boat Tour --I love supporting local family businesses. We could see the water from our kitchen, and it was a short walk down to sunset. There were great fire pits and areas outside to sit and enjoy the views. The Boat Tour was amazing (even in the rain), and the guides did a great job sharing about the environment, the economy, and a little bit of history of the area. We were so delighted and highly recommend staying here (and the tour)!

My wife and I spent three nights here and it was perfect: incredible views, cool ocean breezes, comfortable and clean cottage, friendly staff, and steps away from the highlight of our Cape Breton vacation which was the puffin viewing boat trip. This really is a special place, so relaxing and easy. It also was a convenient location for exploring the eastern side of Cape Breton Highlands and points south and east of there. We highly recommend Mountain Vista Seaside Cottages and can't wait to come back in the future. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

Me and my family loved the whole place, shout-out to Sheila for the warm welcome. The cabin has all that we need during our stay. Small but well equipped kitchen, clean bathroom, comfortable bedroom, and relaxing ambience. The view is fantastic! We will definitely come back on the fall to enjoy the colors it will bring.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was quaint, cozy, and very clean! The property offers a bird-boat tour where we were able to see puffins! It was a highlight of our trip to Cape Breton. The family that runs the business is very welcoming and work hard to make your stay enjoyable. We really enjoyed ourselves.

This place was magic! Right down the road from the Newfoundland ferry. The owners were so wonderful and accommodating. We stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The location is right by the water. Nice cottages with great showers. Awesome views. There is even firewood available to make your own campfires. So so awesome. We will be back for sure.

Rustic little 2 bedroom cottage.
Great separation between bedrooms.
Nice little kitchen with good utensil supply.
Beautiful view.
Nice small rocked beach.
Access to small wharf for some fishing.
Owner/manager great to deal with.
I think we'll come back in the fall so we can enjoy the beautiful colors on the hills across the river.

We had been driving most of the day and hadn't booked any accommodation. Upon looking online, we learnt most things had booked up but then came across Mountain Vista. Wow! Such an unexpected little gem! We stayed in cabin 2a/b and it was perfect to watch the sunset from the balcony, followed by a fire once the sun had set. Would highly recommend! Will be back for the puffin cruise next time.
