We stayed in the Doris Room with our little 9 month old baby. It was so spacious, clean and homely. The highlight of this room is the AMAZING bath and bath salts as well as the insanely comfortable king bed.

There is a great little fridge in the room, so you can chill a bottle of wine until you're ready. We started the morning with a coffee from the level 2 kitchenette and then made our way down to breakfast (delicious 🤤)

The house itself is so incredibly beautiful. The communal lounge spaces are warm and inviting with lots of things to look at.

And all round wonderful experience. The hosts let us know where great places to eat were and were available via text whenever we needed them.

Beautiful stay for a couple. The building was easy to find. With contactless check in, we were able to arrive whenever we wanted. Despite contactless check in, the hosts are readily available through text/phone/email.

The breakfast was delicious (fresh baked bread and biscuits, fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea). There is also a shared kitchenette with a fridge, coffee station, and counter to make a small meal (no stove).

Definitely would recommend!

Room #5 was great. Loved the huge shower and bed. Breakfast was delicious both days. The owner Laura I believe her name is, was a great host, provided great tips!

Everything was amazing, from contactless check-in to breakfast with Melissa the following morning. So nice to see a 19th century mansion turned into a great place to stay. Same rates as no character hotels 30 minutes away. Small touches like the handwritten welcome letter and snacks are do nice after a long travel day with red-eye flight. I will be back

Can't say enough good things about this hidden gem. Did dinner and stayed over with the ramen pop-up and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Wandering around Windsor was lovely, check in was smooth and unfussed, our room was immaculate and full of great little details: a handwritten note, bath robes and GREAT towels (seriously considered taking the towels), and the toiletries were top class. Had a quick nap and went down for dinner which was splendid, and hit the sauna afterwards. Haven't felt this rested in years. Bed was outrageously comfortable. Went down for an excellent breakfast and carried on our way before the snow hit. Every interaction we had with the staff was warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home; this is east coast charm at its finest. 12/10 would do again. Torn between telling everyone I know and keeping this all to myself because it's that amazing.

Delightful experience! Stayed here in midwinter, in between skiing days at Martock, and found a surprisingly lively downtown with live music happening in no fewer than three different spots! Fabulous breakfast, to boot--can't wait to come back!

We had an amazing stay at August House in Nova Scotia! The place is absolutely beautiful, with so many charming details that make it feel cozy and inviting. We stayed in the bunk bed room this past weekend, and the beds were extremely comfortable—one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a while! It was also baby friendly. The air temperature was perfect and easily adjustable, ensuring a comfortable stay. Breakfast was phenomenal, with delicious options that set the day off on a high note. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. I also loved discovering all the little goodies scattered throughout the house, adding a special touch to our experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Nova Scotia!

Sometimes 5 stars are not enough. The entire team and experience at The August House are incredible. The room was very peaceful and impeccable. Breakfast was far beyond expectations. We even enjoyed sitting outside in comfortable chairs around the fire pit before the short walk into town. The owner Collette and one of her team members Melissa really took time to know us deeply and we so appreciate their care for their guests and attention to making your stay incredible.
