The Thirsty Duck Pub, locally known as the duck, is a pub style restaurant located within a 2 storey commercial plaza located in New Westminster, BC.

There was a dedicated parking lot located on the west side of the building, along with plenty of street parking available. The business can also be easily accessed via public transit, with 3 bus stop routes within 1 block for buses: 112, 101, and 155.

Visited during on a Sunday, we attended in conjuction with "New West Bar Bingo" a summer event typically during the months of July and August where local pubs fill in bingo cards for our visit. This review is independent of this event.

My server was Sanya who was attentive, provided the menus, and knowledgeable of my inquiries related to specials and food items. The included photos are of the 2 piece fish and chips and Molson Canadian draft. We have also included the specials for Sunday and the specials for the other days.

There were other activities available within the pub: golf, pull tab, pool. We did not partake in these and are not able to comment.

honestly, Tara is the ? like a ninja she was flying from table to table; dropping off drinks/food, pouring beers, cocktailing, and entertaining guests. the burger ?. cheap pints. it's no BS. no corporate attitude and a genuine atmosphere all around. if you want honest, genuine service from human beings this is where to go. and if you come in with that in mind, you begin to notice reality.

Though I'm not a fan of marching up stairs to get to anything.
The Thirsty Duck is a comfy little pub.
Has a pool table. Free on tues I believe.
Food is above average. With daily specials.
What absolutely stands out. Is the do it all bartender. If the Flash was a real person. She would be it.
It is fascinating to watch her crank out drink after drink. Serve food and clean up after a group has left.
Hey! Tara! If you see this. Pat yourself on the back. And treat yourself to that Mama burger.

A casual pub. Pretty standard pub fare. The server, Tara, is outstanding. Never seen such a bubbly, efficient waitress!! The owner is a very friendly guy who I’ve seen checking in with his patrons. The building itself, while very clean and well kept, is a tad outdated but a fun time can be had by all. Lively music. Gotta try the Duck burger! Not duck meat but it’s huge and delicious!

I personally enjoy the good liquor and atmosphere at very fair prices all day. There Is happy hour on Wednesday and Friday where a shot of Jack is 4$. The fish and chips were superb. Overall a very decent bar which sports a pool table(or snookers, I'm not conversant in it to tell the difference). Although I found that the main waitress/bartender was very prejudiced to my friends and I. Hence the mid rating.

Tara the bartender has been working here for fifteen years. She has served many lowly people who are angry or downtrodden drunks. She holds down the bar and is great people. As a clean and sober person of Narcotics Anonymous, there's nobody else I'd want to have a cigarette with. Thank you for keeping me safe, my friend. Love you and be well.

The bartender was a so loud and keep swearing so much that I couldn’t even hear my thoughts or the conversation with my friend. She kind if hurry us to leave even though the bar was empty.
She made a mistake with the bill and almost over charge us. I don’t know how you make a mistake out of 2 beers. Odd!!
Beer was good and everything was clean. The staff was a big disappointment!
