A Hidden Gem for Breakfast Lovers!

I've always noticed Tamihi Cafe while grocery shopping, but for some reason, never ventured in. It always seemed like a quaint, family-friendly spot, but the online presence didn't grab me. Today, I finally decided to give it a try, and wow, am I glad I did!

This Asian family-run cafe is a hidden gem! Don't let the simple exterior fool you (6 tables inside, one charming Parisian-style table outside perfect for summer). The food is absolutely delicious. I had the Bacon Eggs Benedict, and it was one of the best I've ever had! The hollandaise sauce was perfect, the potatoes were fantastic, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. At $19 with coffee included, it's a great value, especially compared to those big chain restaurants.

Tamihi Cafe definitely exceeded my expectations. Friendly service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. 5 stars! I'll definitely be back.

Highly recommend: Bacon Eggs Benedict

Came in yesterday for a warm bowl of potato soup and was anything but disappointed! I thoroughly enjoyed the warm, thick, velvety texture and consistency of the soup! It was beautifully presented with green onion & bacon bits on top! Piping hot and definelty filling! I ordered the medium-sized bowl for 8$ and left very satisfied! Will definitely be back sooner than later for another bowl of soup and to try some other menu items that caught my eye! The curry smelt divine as the gentleman next to me enjoyed his meal!
The resteraunt tables, floor, and booths were all notably clean, as was the bathroom!
The server was very kind and polite with a consistent smile on her face!

I'm afraid I can't comment on the atmosphere as I've only ever ordered out from Tamihi Cafe, but I will tell you - this restaurant serves the BEST Eggs Benedict in town with the most perfectly plump poached eggs I've ever tasted! I've had their clubhouse sandwich too and the bacon is always crisp, the tomatoes always packed with flavour and the mayo always fully of creamy goodness! Oh and the fries and gravy taste just like home! If you want food just like Mom used to make, you definitely want to try out Tamihi Cafe - their food will NOT disappoint your eyes or your tastebuds! Yum!

An absolute hidden gem. Genuine and family run Asian vibe, charming yet simple decor with movie posters and mirrors, spotless and beautiful washrooms, not many tables but cozy.
The Asian lady heartily welcomed me and offered a huge cup of excellent tea.
The breakfast plate was very large and absolute perfection, the omelette was large and delicious, panfried potatoes just right, brown toast just the way I wanted it.
Very different from Hideaway and level up in quality. Beautiful energy. No over serving but genuinely attentive. I will definitely go there again many times.

For such a small restaurant they had a varied menu. First time here. Many recommended breakfast items, so I tried the Tamihi breakfast with bacon. Can choose burgers, fish and chips or Chinese. Server was wonderful

Saw great reviews so came by for breakfast.
Server was friendly.
Got the Salisbury steak.
This has got to be the smallest dryest Salisbury steak in the world with no gravy on it.
I told the server and explained to her that I'm not looking for a freebie or replacement, but they need to know this is inedible.
She went to the back and chatted with the manager for a while and out comes the manager.
The manager just came straight out defending the meat saying that this is normal and the meat is low fat. I didn't want to push the issue any further as I can tell this lady manager is an NPC. I hope y'all like tiny dry af Salisbury steaks. Photo below.

1st visit. Small intimate cafe, 6 tables.
Excellent service. Food hot. Had breakfast sausage which is made on the premises. Would recommend.
Menu for lunch has variety. Canadian and Korean dishes. We had the Tamihi breakfast special.
