This is regarding the pub. I am very aware of the pub's "reputation"; however, the reasons why some people that I know, including close friends, do not love this place translate into why I love this place.

I was in there for the first time in over a year last night for karaoke. The lone server (Julie? Jules?) remembered me, and she even remembered where I liked to sit before. She was always my favourite there, because of her extra-caring service, which means very much to me; in fact, the service at a place often determines whether or not I return.

It is very casual in there, and by "casual," I do not mean "business-casual." This is not a place for formalities. This is a place for fun and for people who can be themselves--or tribute artists, like the "Elvis" guy who popped in.

I love the food there, too. Now, it is not because it is some of the greatest food out there, but it feels good.

I didn't stay overnight, just long enough to have a couple beers in the pub. So i have no idea about the rooms but if they're the same as the pub, well, guess what they look like. A bit grubby but that's pub life for you so if you arrive and you don't like the pub i'm guessing you won't like much else. But. If you love these kinda places like i do, you'll love the smallness but goodness, the two dart boards, the pool table, the vibe, the nice lovely serving lasses or lads...the beer was good too and it's easy to smoke right outside if you're filthy like me. 👺😂

Of all the 2 star hotels in my travels and there has been a lot this one is the grossest. From the blood spray in the bathroom to the drawers in the dresser. We checked for bedbugs but there was no iron in the room to check properly. Hands down the most disgusting room we have ever stayed in. No duvet just a fleece blanket and who knows when it was washed. Left with out actually sleeping in the bed and took turns driving just to get out of the room. There is no front desk to chat with to bring in house keeping or fresh blankets, or move rooms when you are opening drawers filled with this. $140 a night for this is beyond wrong.

Stayed for one night. Rate was $261.00 CAD. This is a true 2 star hotel. Nothing fancy. Lots of unkept damage everywhere. Rooms were clean ish.

The reason for the 1 star review: The fire alarm started beeping at 11 pm and when we asked the staff to get it to stop they told us “ well it’s not screaming so they will do nothing about it“. The beeping kept going every 30 seconds for the rest of the night and was still going at 1030 am when we checked out.

We contacted the owners for a partial refund as we didn’t get any sleep that night and was brushed off by their staff after our safety concerns of a failing fire alarm.

The owners have also chosen to blame another incident that happened at 7pm for the reason why they didn’t do anything and said the alarm was only on for 5 mins. The owners are now ignoring us. The hotel is run down and the customer service is substandard. Avoid.

We would have packed up and gone to a different hotel but everything was booked because of the yearly “ cloverdale rodeo “ event this weekend.

Bar service was amazing but our room was beyond disgusting. Needle marks in the toliet roll, blood spray on the walls, drawers filled with dirty knives, spoons, lighters and more, dead bugs in the bed corners. Visit the pub but sleep somewhere else.

Food is terrible here, the chicken wings were full of blood, I asked them to change them and they came back with blood still !!! The cook must be fired ! I have been coming here for a few months now and the only good thing is the beer and the service....please get rid of the chef or cook who doesn't know how to fry a wing !!! Hire a real chef please 🙏
