Went with family for an early dinner on a week day and was thoroughly impressed. The food was outstanding, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that made every dish memorable. The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and efficient, ensuring we had everything we needed without asking. The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, striking the perfect balance between a lively bar and a relaxed dining space. Local 22 Kitchen and Bar had been on my radar for a while due to its reputation, so I recently decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, my visit left me with mixed feelings, especially considering the price point.

Firstly, the food was, at best, average. I had expected dishes that would dazzle my taste buds based on the glowing reviews, but what I got was decent fare that didn’t quite justify the cost. While the quality was acceptable, the flavors were not exceptional, and given the prices, I expected more in terms of taste and presentation.

Secondly, the service was adequate but unremarkable. The staff was polite and attentive, yet there was nothing extraordinary that stood out. Considering the high prices, I had hoped for a more personalized or attentive service experience that would elevate the overall dining experience.

Moreover, the prices at Local 22 are on the higher side compared to what is offered. The value for money just wasn’t there for me. While I understand that quality comes at a cost, the disparity between the price and what was delivered in terms of food and service left me feeling somewhat disappointed.

In conclusion, while Local 22 Kitchen and Bar has its merits, I find it hard to recommend wholeheartedly due to the average food quality, unexceptional service, and high prices. If you do decide to visit, manage your expectations accordingly. There may be better dining options in the area that offer a more satisfying experience without breaking the bank.

Awesome brunch spot and so are the drinks!!! I highly recommend outdoor seating during nice weather. The food is portioned out well and delicious. Service is amazing (S/O Max)!

Had an amazing date at Local 22. The drinks were GREAT. The food was GREAT. The service was GREAT. We made an error with ordering individual drinks instead of the Boozy option lol But that's on us. Special salute to Kendal (Kendell?). He was an amazing host with great insight on the menu, attentive service, professional appearance, and great attitude. We will certainly return.

They have THE best Charcuterie board options in Durham!! This is one of our favorite places to go to eat... and we recommend them often! They have many delicious and healthy options. I absolutely love their salads! This visit I had the beet salad with grilled chicken, and he had the lamb cheeseburger with tots. Will attach pics. The service is excellent, and the staff is just friendly/helpful overall!! 10 out of 10 recommend... but be sure you have reservations on Friday and Saturday nights!

Local 22 is our favorite date destination. The food is always great—we especially like the Brussels sprouts! The specialty cocktails are also fun. I like the Coursing Passion and wife likes the Carolina Pimms. Looking forward to going back soon.

First time coming here, and was not disappointed! The Brussels and Mac n cheese were absolutely amazing. We split the coconut curry and that was perfect as well. Great portion sizes, loved the atmosphere as well. Prompt service and friendly staff. Not to mention carefully crafted cocktails! Will definitely be coming back!

I came here with one person for dinner on a Friday. We ordered deviled eggs for an appetizer. They were just ok. I ordered a pizza and they ordered the shrimp and grits. My meal was decent, however the shrimp and grits were the worse he says he ever had.

The service was nice but we were at a table very close to the bar and I had a server continuously coming up on my back to grab drinks for customers.

I definitely would not recommend this place.
