Went today to grab a Salmon Benedict to go, plus a couple of other food to go. Spent 89$, I finally open the take out box to enjoy my meal, to my surprise I find this sloppy soggy thing that resembles a breakfast but really far from it. It is supposed to be sitting on 2 baguette slices, I will post pictures of what I actually got (I added one with my fingers to show the actual size of them). The look of it and the sound when I move the food around reminds me of wet dog food. What a disappointment when only this dish, after tax, is almost 30$. Never coming here again. Not to mention that it almost took longer to get my cappuccino than for the food to be cooked. PS: I did taste it, and it tasted just the same way it looked, literally dog food.

Disappointing Experience at Stella’s (Grant Ave Location)

We walked into this Stella’s and stood right in front of the “Please Wait to Be Seated” sign. Several staff members saw us, made eye contact, but not a single one acknowledged us—not even a simple “hi.” The restaurant was not busy at all, with plenty of empty tables and booths, so there was no reason for the delay. It wasn’t until we kept staring at one of the servers that she finally approached and asked if we wanted a table.

We ordered cheese toast as a starter—one of the few options available—but it was dry, hard, and barely had any cheese on it. I ordered a coffee that didn’t get refilled until I had to repeatedly flag someone down.

We both ordered the Chicken Brie sandwich. We’ve had it before at their Provencher location, where it’s done really well with flavorful sauce. But here? Completely bland. The potatoes burned and the sauce was barely there, and when we asked for hot sauce to add some taste, they brought us a container so small it wouldn’t even cover two bites.

To make matters worse, we were served by at least four different people. No one seemed to know what we ordered or what was going on—no communication, no consistency. No one checked in to see how things were going either. And at the end, we got the payment machine with the tip screen—how do you expect a tip when your service is this poor? Not even a “thank you” or “have a good day.”

I don’t recommend this location. From reading other reviews, it seems like these issues have been around for a while and nothing’s been done to fix them. Unless they make serious improvements, I won’t be coming back.

First time and won't be the last! Jenny was amazing! She thoroughly explain the menu, helped us make some awesome choices! The food was out of this world and the service was second to none! Jenny also helped us procure a couple of the last jars of jam to take home! 💕

First time here and so disappointed. The servers might be having a bad day. We waited for 10 mins for a table, it’s all good, but the thing is they pass us by multiple times without saying anything. No ‘we’ll be with you’ no ‘good morning’ just blank stares. The Jambalaya I ordered is not the same anymore, we used to get this at Sherbrooke and the Main Street location. It was soupy and the rice was soggy. When we left, the servers were at the entrance and said nothing, no ‘thank yous’ or ‘ty for coming’. What happened? Disappointing. Do better.

Prompt service and yummy food, this Stella’s has a lovely atmosphere and our server Mandee was great! Very friendly and attentive, I’d definitely come back 🙂

This was the best meal and experience of my life. Good food, great company, and even BETTER SERVICE! I am on day 3 of my Stella’s streak and I don’t want to ever stop. Give me more pepper jelly chicken Brie sandwich. Incredible. Thank you Bryce.

We had such a wonderful experience at this cozy diner in Winnipeg! From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by Gia but Vicky took amazing care of us—attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind.

They made sure everything was perfect and their positive energy really added to our meal.

The food was delicious, classic diner comfort with a homemade touch. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.
