La nourriture était excellente mais le service a été négligé, même inexistant. Entre notre commande et nos plats on a attendu 1h et aucun serveur n'est venu nous voir, savoir si on voulait des boissons ou autres. Au bout d'une heure on nous a servi les entrées et plats en même temps. Dommage car la nourriture valait le détour.

Le cadre de ce restaurant nous transporte dans un autre siècle, ce qui est fort agréable. Le service est impeccable, les cocktails fabuleux et la cuisine est très bonne.

I've had an amazing time at the Fort Gary Hotel, but the Oval Room Brasserie was one place that made me feel like I belonged. Everything from the conversations with Justin while he made and served drinks to his helpful tips on places to eat while visiting in⁸ winnipeg. And the food they served was a great pleasure. If you ever make your way to winnipeg Canada and stay at the Fort Gary hotel. Stop in and say hello to Justin and let him make you a drink. I promise you that you won't be disappointed.

Mother's Day brunch here was just outstanding. Massive buffet with an omelet station, carving station, sushi station, ice cream station, piano player etc etc. TONS of clearly labelled gluten-free options (usually hard to find) which i appreciated immensely. Staff were terrific and when my son casually requested something they didn't have they actually went downstairs and found it for him.

I made a reservation here for Thanksgiving, drawn in by the elegant atmosphere and excited for what I hoped would be a memorable meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I anticipated.

The turkey was particularly disappointing. The dark meat was cold and tucked beneath dry white meat slices, which were served with only a small amount of gravy. When I politely brought this to the server’s attention, his response was dismissive, stating, “That’s how it is,” without offering any solution. We ended up packing our meals and giving the leftovers to a homeless group nearby.

Considering the price—$75 per adult and $35 per child, with a total bill exceeding $300—I expected far better quality and service. Regrettably, this experience has left me with no desire to return.

In hindsight, I should have opted for a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner, which would have been both more enjoyable and more satisfying.

However, I was hoping for some insight regarding the specific issues I mentioned, especially the server’s dismissive response when I brought up concerns about the meal. Hearing ‘That’s how it is’ without any attempt to address the issue felt disappointing, particularly given the occasion and the meal’s cost.

This is a small restaurant inside Fort Garry. The room is incredibly tall so it doesn't feel closed in but the atmosphere definitely leans more intimate and quiet. The surroundings are beautiful and elegant. The staff are all warm personalities and know their menu very well and we enjoyed more than one recommendation from them. We dined here twice and both times had full dinner entrees followed by desserts. The open faced salmon sandwich was the only let down, it was too difficult to eat as the bread didn't hold the toppings so had to use fork and knife and it was tough to cut. The chuck flat was tender and a very healthy portion. The lemon tart and chocolate pate desserts were delicious and a perfect size and they are rich.

We would not normally have dinner in a hotel restaurant, we will be rethinking that. This place is an absolute gem. Service staff were excellent and the main server was a hoot. The oval room is gorgeous. Smash burger is to die for. If you are staying and The Fort Garry, do yourself a favor and try this restaurant.

We booked a private room for our wedding dinner (small party of 9) in the Clockwork Parlour. Oh my goodness the food was beyond delicious! The quality is absolutely top notch! The service was quick and so accommodating. It was the most perfect wedding dinner! I absolutely recommend having special event dinners here, it was a great experience!!
