Great little adults-only hotel with a beautiful view on Eagle Lake. Was just here in the fall, and would also be nice in the summer as well. The staff were nice and courteous. The in-house restaurant Twin Fires, although a bit pricey for dinner, was excellent and the serving staff were very pleasant. Breakfast in the mornings was well done. We stayed in the villas, which had a fireplace, which was nice. Even though there were very minor issues with house-keeping, the management responded well to feedback. I would also suggest that a bucket of kindling, paper and matches be provided for each new guest. Wood for the fireplace was provided outside the villas. We also appreciated the special event that they had in the bar one evening. We also enjoyed the hot stone massage at the spa, and the related facilities. An option for a couples massage would have been a nice feature.

This was our 5th visit and as we love the drive there and the beautiful location and scenery , it will be a struggle to justify a repeat visit as there were many disappointments. This makes me sad because there are so many wonderful things about this place too. |Firstly, the houskeeping was lacking pathetically. Our room was NOT clean. There were hairs left in the tub,. the toilet needing cleaning, the ceiling fan was filthy, and there were dishes outside our room from our neighbours that were there when we arrive and still there whan we left. We did not see one housekeeper the entire time. I had to voice a concern and because there are no phones to call the desk I had to call the outside line to get someone . Our little deck , with dirty patio chairs and table needed staining 7 years ago and has not changed and in fact gotten worse with cobwebs and peeling paint. The cutains were dirty and dusty and the shelf over the firplace had so much dust on it I could write my name. ||Secondly, the breakfast were terrible. Both mornings. And I never complain about food but the second morning my sandwich was unedible. I ordered the BLTCE sandwich and the toast was burnt and the lettuce had brown edges and the bacon was half raw. . How do you screw up breakfast when there are two other tables to cook for? I should have caused a fuss but didn't want to disrupt the peace of the dining room. I did mention it quietly to the waitress the first morning that the homefries were cold and she hopefully told the cook but it was the same the next morning. How dare they charge 30 dollars for this and two of the smallest eggs I have ever seen. Also the complimentary continentinal addition of a fruit cup and yogurts was a nice touch but why only one cup of fruit, There are two people , shouldn't each one have their own . For that price there sure should be. To be fair though the suppers were very nice and the wine selection was great. ||The staff are lovely and very friendly but it just seems that there is no one to take the reins and get this place up to snuff. I am sure that a lot of these things have been brought to the attention of the staff and I know that there are still things to recover from since COVID and I realize that costs have gone up everywhere. But if the standards are not increased up to our expectations and justification of spending over a 1000.00 dollars to stay there for two nights then we will be sad not to return.

First up, went neutral on the room rating as we did not stay there. After a long day we decided to check Sir Sam's out and had an amazing time. Bartender Johnny served up some really good drinks, there was live entertainment and we made a few new and really fun friends. The kitchen was closed off as we got there a bit late but we will definitely be back to try the food. Can't wait to see what other simple pleasure this cozy escape offers. ?

Fabulous resort! The front desk staff, bartender, housekeeping staff are all wonderful and welcoming. Our room is gorgeous, with a balcony overlooking Eagle Lake. Our room has a wood-burning fireplace and a cozy sitting area so we can enjoy the fire. |The rate was much much less than expected too! |Highly highly recommend Sir Sams. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. |Thank you for making our stay perfect

I wanted to give this place a much better rating based on the willingness of staff to help and their warm service. The setting is lovely - nice waterfront, access to kayaks and other amenities, and the water spa is a wonderful experience. However, the dining room is overpriced and the food quality is less than average. Breakfast is served with McCain tater tots and the waffles were so poorly prepared that they took them menu that morning. Dinner was somewhat better, but portion sizes and quality are inadequate. The views are lovely and the rooms are reasonably comfortable - worth a return trip. I would pass on any meal plans and reserve dinner once to see if it suits your taste.

Have to say I’m a little disappointed. Comes across as a 5 star resort for the price but not comparable to other places. The lake and surrounding area is beautiful. The Inn, however, is dated, but comfortable, needs a refresh. We stayed for 2 nights and paid for the meal plan, which includes breakfast and dinner. When you go for meal , the price is indicated on the bill, taxes, tip and alcohol are extra. The total amount is shown so that you tip on the complete meal. Breakfast is $30 per person. Dinner is $85 per person. The dinner includes a protein plus seasonal vegetables and potatoes. The vegetable was brussel sprouts that were undercooked and bland. It was the same for both nights. I had the salmon which was also almost raw. My husband had a flank steak which was a special for the evening and it also had no flavour. The menu online indicated an elk appetizer and Oscar filet mignonwhich was not on the menu when we arrived.|We did not do any spa services.|A highlight was the spa pool which was very nice.|Saturday night there was a “band” playing until 10 p.m. |only one other couple was there dancing, we played pool.|The outdoor pool was closed.|At checkout there was a charge on our bill that I didn’t recognize and upon further investigation found out that it belonged to another room. Had I not questioned it we would’ve been charged. They did remove it from our bill, no problem.|I imagine it is a busy place in winter with the ski lift walking distance from the Inn.

Really not worth the money spent. The room was ok but needs a lot of TLC. We could write our name in the dust on the headboard. The bathroom had lots of grouting and caulking that was either moldy or missing. The bathroom mirror was rusting from the other side leaving marks and streaks. The room was freezing with no indication of how to warm it up. I saw reviews that people loved the fact that the room had a wood fireplace but you are responsible for hauling it to the room.|Before we booked the room, I had looked at the published static Dinner Menu and relished the fact that they offered a Filet Mignon. First night we went for dinner, no Filet available. When I asked for more information I was told they ran out the previous night. Second night for dinner, told they still do not have Filet and have run out of Chicken as well. This is unacceptable for a place charging this kind of money! How many years of data do you have to base your grocery order on? WOW!

This place is in serious need of major renovations and cleaning. The rooms are very old, and the furniture is all broken. The balcony was full of cobwebs, and the pool was unusable, there were even frogs swimming in it. The rooms also don’t have air conditioning, so during the summer days, feels like an oven. Considering the price they charge per night, I expected something much nicer. The only positive thing of this place is the location, which is very nice.
