First off, I feel the staff were very polite with the exception of one individual who asked me to write a review; let’s call him Q.
1. Irritated Demeanour
The table had been setup ahead of time, with generic party decorations and I had asked if I could just put mine over top because we had a party theme. Q was not happy about it, and proceeded to mutter under his breath as he gathered up the juice boxes and paper plates. Q told me to inform them next time. He then asked if it was my grandson’s birthday; it was not.
2. Late Pizzas Lead to Late Cake
It’s was only a 2 hour time-frame in which I expected the food to come at some point, but after 30 mins when I checked with the front they said they would be ready shortly; they weren't. The pizza arrived at 4pm. So then we had 1 hour left to get the kids to eat and then setup the cake so we could sing happy birthday.
(The people who came at 6pm got their pizza at 6:10)
3. Slamming the Door on Us
We sang happy birthday at 4:45 and finished serving everyone by 5:00. We started cleaning up at 5:05 and the same unhappy Q came through, still very irritated, rushing us out of the room and slammed the door on us. It was all very unnecessary, considering the reason why we were behind schedule.
4. Charged for 4 & 8 Month Olds
There were 3 babies that were clearly too small to be playing and in fact stayed strapped to their parents chest. But they were counted in the total despite letting the front desk know the age of the children and physically seeing how small the children were. The website says infants under 12 months are free.
5. Social Media Photos and Video
I told the social media manager that he could take some pictures of our room decorations and he could come back for the cake. Later on, some of the parents got very uncomfortable how invasive it was considering the small space we had. He also didn’t ask the parents if he could record their children or tell them who he was.
The only reason I’m giving the place a 2 star is because my son didn’t want to leave the play area. But otherwise, for overall service experience (Q) as a whole and the amount of money they charged; I would choose another venue.
