Fantastic spot to grab a pastry, some delicious tea, and read some books. Very interesting reads to find/buy, highly recommend the apple torte (apple/cheesecake mix), and their tea selection is remarkable.

Really cool used bookstore (and more!)! They really care about supporting local artists & provided so much information about each of the local artists. I would highly recommend making this stop part of your Smithers experience!

The only coffee shop I've been to that has life to it, that the building itself actually seems to have a soul. The staff have always been lovely (I hope you're doing well Janet) and it's always been somewhere I can go when I need someone to talk to. Being in a small town the books don't circulate super quickly, but there are always books you've missed while browsing the shelves, so it's always worth another look. The drinks are always good, especially the mocha and the chai. The torte is great for a small snack and the soups are so good I miss them when I'm not in town. It's also the only coffee shop I've ever heard play Stan Rogers, and the rest of their music taste is great too. If you're local you can't not know about Mountain Eagle, but if you're passing through Smithers or visiting for any length of time stop in and support an honest and well kept local business.

Inviting staff and atmosphere. Great food and beverages for great prices. I love the teas and canned juice selections. The book shelves are packed and lots of fun to peruse! Other interesting little bits and bobs to check out.

This place is great. I went in for a book, found the one I was looking for, had a tea, and ended up conversing with new people. The cute girl with the moose sweater behind the counter always greets people with a smile and is very approachable and knowledgeable. I am definitely coming back to this cafe when I'm in the area.
