Great eclectic diner for brunch/lunch. Huge portions served piping hot, quick from the kitchen. All reasonably priced. Super attentive and friendly staff. I’ve heard it gets busy in the AM, but no wait when we arrived at 1:30 PM. The Jones Big Crunch and Fried Chicken Waffles were fantastic. Good selection of hot boozy drinks. Will return for sure.

What an outstanding breakfast spot! The staff were very attentive and welcoming. The food came quickly and hot!

The breakfast poutine was delicious and a HUGE portion. I'm a big eater, and I had to take some away still.

The duck hash was also very sizeable in portion and had very good flavour.

They also have their own in-house hot sauces, while I didn't find them spicy. I do think they had a very good taste and were very enjoyable !

If we come back to Victoria again, we will definitely stop by The Ruby again!

Was looking for a breakfast place after dropping my car at a repair shop nearby. First time there, and I enjoyed the food. The Korean fried chicken and waffle was wonderful - their mayo was flavorful and cheesy, definitely ask for the hot sauce on the side. Service was lovely as well.

The only thing that made me take off one mark was how the tips were set up. It started at 25% and with two other options that descended to 18% gradually. First, I am not comfortable with this psychological technique to enforce a higher tip; secondly, your service only deserved a 15% tip. I guess this has more to do with management. Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely come back

This is easily one of the best breakfast spots around. I absolutely love the taste and quality: consistently great. I always go for the chicken hash with avocado, and this time I decided to try the banana pecan waffle. Honestly, it was the best banana waffle I’ve ever had and I’m not even a big fan of bananas! The caramelized banana sauce was incredible and completely won me over. A definite must-try!

The only downside is that they don’t take reservations, so you’ll need to go in person, put your name on the list, and wait.

Went here with my mom twice while we were staying at Hotel Zed. The first morning we had an amazing omelette, I eat healthy so I was able to pick what I wanted in my omelette which was on the menu. The second morning my mom and I had the berry waffles which were to die for. The waffles were so puffy you just had to put the knife through it once and it cut right through (now that's what I call homemade). They had a strawberry puree that I dipped my waffles in that was so good. The service was amazing and I ended up buying a Ruby mug to take home. Will definitely be coming back for more food there. Check it out because it's worth it.

Just had an amazing breakfast at The Ruby! Elisha and Tony were such sweet servers, and the Salmon benny on a croissant was insanely good (and I had a hard time picking something because the whole menu sounds incredible!). I look forward to coming back.
