Alannah and Judy were amazing! They were at the venue on time, they did an amazing job on everyone’s hair and makeup. They made the experience fun and dealt with slightly difficult family members exceptionally well. They also accommodated a last-minute hairstyling request when a guest changed her mind.

The only reason I didn’t rate them 5 stars is because I was a bit disappointed that the trial hair/makeup price was the same as the wedding hair/makeup price. I thought that was a bit much for a trial.

Maid of honour here! We had the ladies at the Dragonfly Room do our hair and makeup for my best friends wedding in May. Not only were they so professional and on time (they travelled down to Toronto too), they made all our hair and makeup dreams come true. We had pics ready of the hair and makeup we wanted, and they consulted with each of us to make sure we got exactly the looks we desired. Also, they were so prepared with everything they needed to create our perfect looks right down to a ring light for the best lighting for makeup. Not only did our hair and makeup last all night, one of the bridesmaids even sent a pic the next morning of her still perfect hair and makeup (and that was the bridesmaid who said her hair and makeup never stay!) I’m so thankful to the team for making me look glamorous and gorgeous that day and feeling my best, as we all know it can be stressful the day of. Also, the bride lives in the UK and was coming home for her wedding. They did such a wonderful job of communicating with her and even having zoom consultations to talk to her about her big day. Thank you to this well prepared crew for getting us ready! Some of the best people I’ve ever had. You’d be lucky to have them on your special day too! I wish I lived closer to the salon to get my cut and colour done with them as well.

My experience with the dragon fly room was amazing!! I feel so much better about my wedding day after having my hair and makeup trial! They did exactly what I wanted and even pointed out things I never would of ever thought of. So happy with how my makeup and hair turned out!!

Allison and Alanna are a fantastic team and do beautiful work! I hired them back in January 2019, long before our wedding day in October 2020. I wanted a hair and makeup team who were experienced, professional, and talented – and The Dragonfly Room checked all of those boxes. They are very kind and great to work with, and really listened to what I was looking for in my wedding hair and makeup to make sure I felt beautiful on the big day.

Of course, COVID-19 had other ideas for 2020 brides and grooms, so we had to pivot our plans! Allison and Alanna were willing to work with us through all the uncertainty of the pandemic, responding to our questions promptly and being flexible as we went through our options – we something sincerely appreciated!! We decided to do a downsized, smaller wedding and they were totally on board. They took the pandemic and health and safety precautions seriously, which my whole group sincerely appreciated! They allowed me to book a hair & makeup trial for not only me, but also for my mom and my sister – both were nervous about getting their hair & makeup professionally done, and both left absolutely loving their looks and feeling confident about the big day. Allison and Alanna are amazing at really listening to their clients and making sure to take care around any insecurities or concerns that their clients have. We had six people getting their hair & makeup done on the morning of the wedding, and every one of them spoke highly of Allison and Alanna's work and said they felt beautiful afterwards! The Dragonfly Room came to us so that we wouldn't have to worry about timing, and Allison and Alanna's warm and friendly attitudes made it honestly just a wonderful way to begin the day. And I got so many compliments on my hair & makeup!

I am so happy that I chose Allison and Alanna from The Dragonfly Room to do the hair and makeup for my big day and would highly recommend them to others for their events!! Thank you Allison and Alanna!

I had a very unfortunate experience with this vendor. I don’t feel they were up front with pricing(no info on the cost of the trial anywhere in the brochure just encourages you to book a trial before the wedding) and the actual styling itself was not even close to be worth the amount of time and money spent. Neither my hair or makeup looked anything like the inspiration pictures I brought in. For the makeup, the colours were not right (for the eye shadow or lip) the eye lashes were not along the lash line, eyeliner was uneven, products used must not have been great as by the time I got home it looked like I was wearing no eyeshadow at all. For the hair the curls did not last even a few hours even after stressing to the stylist that my hair needs extra support to hold a curl. The style did not look anything like what I asked for, you could see the hair elastics and it looked very sloppy. I left with a visible pony tail in the back with two twists meeting in the middle (very very simple style). Of the two elastics used for the style both were visible. I did not take any pictures in the salon as the stylists said they would take them and send them to me. I did not receive any pictures until I sent an email with my disappointment. I sent a picture I took in the driveway of the salon. The salon replied with pictures of a style that was done halfway through the appointment and not the final look that I left with and accused me of altering the style or that it was taken hours later etc.
On top of that the stylist burned my ear with styling tool. I would have been devastated if something like that happened on the day of my wedding to me or any bridesmaids.
I did voice my opinion while at the salon (asked for more dimension/sparkles like the image I showed with the eyeshadow, asked to restyle my hair twice) but after over two and a half hours it was clear that what I wanted was not going to happen. I was charged full price for the bridal hair and makeup and also lost my deposit for the wedding day (over 400$ down the drain). When I emailed about my disappointment I was made to feel that it was my fault for not speaking up and was offered nothing in compensation.
I will not be recommending the dragonfly room to anyone for weddings.

I was recommended this hair/makeup salon by another bride, and boy, am I glad I took that advice. The Dragonfly Room is a top-notch bridal salon who made every single person in my bridal party feel special and beautiful. They even had coffee and treats for us when we arrived on the wedding day!! I must thank Allison and Alanna in particular who did an amazing job with hair and makeup – you ladies truly listened to us, and executed our visions beyond our greatest expectations. I would recommend The Dragonfly Room to ANY bride who wants a well-priced, special experience on their big day.

we hired dragonfly for our offsite wedding in algonquin park. alanna did my party’s makeup and absolutely crushed it. she was so wonderful to work with and just a lot of laughs and really eased the nerves and was really an awesome addition to the wedding day vibe. my hair was done by judy and i absolutely loved it. i don’t really do my hair and makeup much so i didn’t want anything extravagant, the trial was super helpful to show me different looks and i ended up with something i loved. will totally be back for any hair and makeup needs in the future and would recommend them to anyone for a stress free wedding day!

My wedding party and I had The Dragonfly Room Salon and Spa travel to my home on the day of our wedding. They did all of our hair and makeup and everyone looked beautiful. The ladies were so patient with us when we were asking questions.
The results were amazing, I don’t think any of us have ever received so many compliments.
