Overrated place. We did swim classes for last 5 years with them. My two kids one is easy going 7 yrs went with everything they said and was ok. My other kid 4 needs attention and was too shy ( things like calling child with her name holding her hand to walk to the pool) she needed some encouragement. The instructors are not trained well to deal with different types of kinds personality they expect to say follow me all kids just follow. I wrote that review they hand parents every end of session and every time we come back same instrector is still there no improvement( still ice cold with kids and roll her eye when kids don't follow)
Facility wise for last two years women washroom stank like overwhelming sewage smell. It took them forever to fix it. Pool shape is odd they are trying to squeeze many classes once even if it does not fit well. Only good thing they have water temperature is good for the kids.
We are off to Aqua life, way better my child swim is excellent we pay more but we get faster results in short period.

Love this place for swimming. The instructors spend so much more energy and time with the kids than the city lessons. The water is warm and the pool is very kid friendly.

I have only used Dovercourt for swimming. Been going for about a year now. The change rooms and showers are pretty clean and the pool is a good temperature. However, the lane swims are only a few times a week and only extremely early in the morning-they are also always full. So, I do adult swims instead, which are okay. It is very hard to actually swim because people are not mindful of others and the staff doesn’t lane off the pool. I think splitting it in half for those who just want to stand/ float/ mingle in the water to stay on one side could fix this. During the last adult swim I did, 2 lifeguarding or swim classes came in during the adult swim. It was loud and disappointing. Would be good for families and kids, those who don’t mind loud noise, and those who don’t want to properly swim.

Excellent location. Has a pool, multi purpose rooms, outdoor facilities, outdoor rink and much more. There is lots of parking but it can be busy there. This facility actually has openings for family activities when you call to register. Most of the time in Ottawa you are put on a waiting list even when you call within 5 mins of the class opening. Facility is clean and well staffed.

Love the swimming pool at Dovercourt for my kids; the majority of the pool is fairly shallow at around 4 feet. There’s also a gradual ramp entrance in the shallow area for very small children to acclimate themselves in the water. Pool area is complete with kiddy pool and hot tub. Swimming lessons are average prices. Family swims are relatively inexpensive.
