Stopped by this place cause of the live music that we heard. And all I must say is that everything, from the food, staff, atmosphere was just amazing! They have musicians coming in playing live music for you, which you don’t see in a lot of places nowadays. I got the Tuscan chicken with rice and vegetables. For someone who barely finishes her food I managed to eat everything! I hands down recommend this place to everyone!

The Bison Burger tastes like a less flavourful & less juicy beef burger.

I obviously prefer the beef patty but I really value trying the Bison Burger at least once. If I were to buy the Bison Burger, it has to be a different burger where they add unique ingredients to it & make it different in taste. Otherwise, I prefer the beef taste better. It'd richer & juicier. This one had less juiciness to it. I don't know if it's the way it was cooked or the patty itself. Service is alright, workable. I love the music here & the chef was very friendly. Happy to have ate here.

Stopped by this pub as we were heading back to Toronto and it was definitely worth the visit. Great live music and customer service. My family and I enjoyed our meals, everything was great ! I got the cheeseburger and it was definitely 10/10! We will for sure be back whenever we visit Peterborough again.

Went to Black Horse pub with my family for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal. There was live music to keep us entertained and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Chicken Parm and it was delicious! The owners provided great customer service and ensured everything was up to satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this restaurant/pub to everyone

Based on reviews we decided to drive a distance to visit the pub on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the server was incredibly rude to us. She was not rushed, the place was quiet, so we couldn’t figure out why she treated us so badly. Our requests were basic. We were cheerful, (happy to be on a road trip) and friendly. But every question was meet with disdain. It was so uncomfortable we couldn’t wait to get out of there and away from her callous treatment. It’s unfortunate because were enjoying the music. I rarely write reviews, but when I looked up and saw the sign out front - ‘The friendliest place in town’ - I felt compelled to comment. I had so many fond memories of Peterborough, now tarnished by the ‘unfriendliest place in town’.

I have been here once and if I'm ever in Peterborough again I'll go back. We sat outside, which is nothing special but I did walk in and it seems like a really cool place, especially in the evening with live music playing. The service was a little slow but very friendly. We ordered the Ruben and the duck wings. The Ruben was good but not great, the meat was moist and tender and the bread was fresh, I would try some other items before I got back to this. However, the duck wings were amazing! This is the only place I have seen selling duck wings and I would come back just for these. They were meaty, crispy and juicy, and the sauce was amazing. The duck wings should be the first thing you try here.

Took awhile to get service despite being the second only customer on the dining room side. When the food finally
arrived the lettuce looked slimey and discolored, and the spinach artichoke dip was very bland. We weren't checked on at all until we were about to check out, and we were not given any condiments with our food.
