If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!

The food was absolutely amazing from start to finish. As visitors from out of town, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The owner, John, was upbeat, engaging, and incredibly friendly—he took the time to chat with us about the town and made us feel right at home.

We started with the mussels, and wow—some of the best we’ve had anywhere in the world. The white wine and mustard sauce was a perfect and unique combination that left us wanting more.

Our mains were equally outstanding: the hunter-style chicken was rich, hearty, and full of flavor, while the red pepper fettuccine Alfredo was creamy, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. Chef kiss!

I’ve been coming to Powell River for over 15 years, and this was hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had here. We’ll absolutely be back—maybe even tomorrow night!

Don’t skip this place on your next Sunshine Coast visit!

We had an amazing experience at Forest Bistro & Lounge.
The meals were absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. I had the Lamb Shank and my partner the braised beef👌🏼.
John, the owner, made us feel incredibly welcome. He truly has a great sense of hospitality and passion for what he does.
The view over the water with the mountains in the distance made the whole experience even more special.

From the outside, it’s pretty unassuming—but once you step inside, you’re welcomed with warmth, and the view from the back patio is absolutely stunning.

I had the Hunter Style Chicken with a glass of Chardonnay and it was outstanding—rich, savory, and clearly made with care. Comforting and elevated at the same time.

The owner and staff were gracious, warm, and genuinely friendly. The whole experience made me feel like I’d discovered something special.

Already looking forward to coming back…. I’m literally coming back tomorrow haha.

Definitely more than 5 stars!!! I saved this restaurant choice for my last evening in Powell River! I arrived later than expected.... the restaurant was about to close.... but the owner welcomed me with open arms! He honored me with a more than delicious shrimp starter, followed by the main course I ordered. Everything was so delicious, a real mouthwatering feast! The last table of 2 left, he turned up the music, it was so pleasant!! I didn't feel rushed at all, but of course I didn't delay!! The owner was really friendly too! Really happy to have dared to enter this wonderful restaurant despite the hour! I will definitely return on my next visit! Thank you again for this wonderful experience 🤤🚐🌅

We sat on the deck in the back. Watched the sun set and the ferry come in. The service was great and very personal. The choices on the menu were excellent, we wished we had bigger appetites.
The bacchus salad could be described as an eggs Benedict on a bed of lettuce. The mushroom ragout was truly tasty.
The waitress was very helpful helping us make our choices. Not rushing at all and able to chat about the area.

Best calamari I have ever eaten - light, fresh and generous serve. The beef and pasta dishes were incredible - fantastic music, friendly service and nice view of the ocean. I will definitely be back
