We always have a great time at the Laughing Oyster. The food is delicious and views are even better. Even though it seems ‘fancy’, our young children are always warmly welcomed and encouraged to explore the grounds. Already looking forward to our next meal with them!

My favourite place to eat! The staff and food are absolutely amazing. I stayed at the cabins and loved coming for dinner! The whole atmosphere is magical and delicious!

We visited this restaurant while spending a few days with our family at Power River, as it was the only dining option nearby. Initially, we intended to purchase some takeout alcohol but discovered it was a full-service restaurant instead. Impressed by the lovely view, we decided to reserve a table for dinner the following day.
When we arrived, the patio area was served by only two servers which led to a longer wait for our service. The food was just ok , but the portion sizes were small, and the steak did not meet our expectations. We specifically requested a medium-rare steak, but all our steaks were served well done. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend the steak here.
Another disappointment occurred when I went to the front desk to pay the bill, intending to cover the entire amount for my family. I discovered that a 25% gratuity was automatically included. When I asked the server about it, she explained that any party of five or more is automatically charged a 25% gratuity. While I usually tip generously, I found this automatic gratuity unreasonable and felt pressured into paying a high service fee. This aspect was particularly off-putting.
Overall, I would recommend this place for its convenience and views, especially since it’s the only restaurant close to the resort. However, I wouldn’t return, as there are better options out there once you venture further from the resort. I wanted to support local business so I agve a 4 stars.

This is a difficult review - the expectations were high based on other reviews and word of mouth and the price point aligns with the higher end of fine dining. Unfortunately the food does not come close the expectations or price. Don’t get me wrong - the food is above average for the area, but the price point should be closer to 1/2 of what your pay… I find it difficult to recommend.

My friend and I really enjoyed our experience at The Laughing Oyster! All of the staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was great! The chocolate lava cake is a must! I would definitely love to come back and stay in one of their adorable cabins!

5 Stars - Unforgettable Experience!

We had an exceptional dining experience at The Laughing Oyster, made even better by the outstanding service from Rylyn. Every dish was perfection, starting with the seared calamari, carrot soup, and warm sourdough bread. Our mains—salmon plank, prime rib, and the seafood platter—were beyond delicious. To top it off, the lava cake and fruit crumble for dessert were simply amazing!

We were so impressed with the quality of the meal that we rang the bell to buy the kitchen a round of drinks. The attention to detail, flavors, and service exceeded our expectations. We also stayed overnight in one of their beautifully decorated and cozy tiny cabins, which was the perfect complement to our dining experience. It truly was the highlight of our weeklong trip to the Sunshine Coast.

Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a memorable meal and stay!

Fun and festive place to have a dinner in Lund! Too bad it was too dark to enjoy the view. Both food and service were good. Enjoyed seafood chowder and sablefish.

When I called to book Scott said your the first caller you’ll get a upgrade on your accommodation then when we arrived they didn’t even ask our names until we were walking to the cabin which was the Bratty Catty which is the smallest cabin which only sleeps 2 the other cabins sleep 6. I emailed Scott about this mix up, in person he said opps we gave the wrong cabins to wrong couples and that he would send a email to resolve the mix up but it’s been 2 days and no email. The only mirror in that cabin was very small, I was like how you get ready for dinner. The lock on cabin didn’t work and the shower curtain rod was snapped in half then taped together. High tea was good but wine tasting was 1 glass of wine red or white of your choice not really a tasting and it was served with the tea. The second night dinner a mix up with the appetizer with another table happened the chef yelled at the waitress so loud we heard the whole thing and felt so bad for her she was shaking when she returned to the table. I pointed this out when we checked out as I thought Scott should check in with his waitress to see how she’s doing, he said he would have a word. The pasta my main had a long hair throughout me, my partner and the waitress tried pulling out the hair but was unsuccessful it lifted all the noodles out of the bowel and moved the bowel across the table while we were tugging on the hair, it was cooked right in, which was very disappointing cause I only got a couple bites of my main. The steaks were cooked inconsistent first night we both ordered the steak medium one was medium rare and one medium the second night my partner ordered the steak medium and it was fully cooked. The highlights of our stay were the pacific prawns, seafood chowder and the sticky date pudding would recommend these dishes.
