We got this recommendation from friends who visited you recently as they know we like good food, nice view and pet friendly patios. We enjoyed every minute at Ship and Shore. Food was delicious, drinks too, view was breathtaking and you have pet friendly patio. Ruby the dog made few friends there and so did we. Good vibe all around. Nice people to talk to. We had crab cakes for appetizer( no pic of those , sorry), halibut and chips and lobster roll with ceasar salad. Margaritas and Caesar’s were great too. Everything was reasonably priced too. I highly recommend this place for casual lunch/ dinner in a relaxing atmosphere.

The food here was delicious! I highly recommend the crab cake and the lobster roll. The bacon wrapped scallops were a miss for us though. There was too much bacon wrapped around the scallop so you couldn’t really taste it. Otherwise, the food overall was very good. The food came out a bit slow but the server was very attentive about it. She kept checking in on us and apologizing saying that the kitchen was a bit backed up. We appreciated her checking in and the food was worth the wait. Unfortunately the views from the patio was not as nice but it was a dog friendly patio. Overall we had a good experience here considering there aren’t that many good food options in the area!

We have been meaning to try this place for a while, finally made it the and was it ever worth it! The views from the patio are stunning, the food was incredible (we had the onion rings, lobster mac and cheese, and the beef burger with lobster and a side Caesar salad). Everything we tried was made from scratch and it showed! Impeccable dressing on the salad, the burger was a gooey but delicious mess and the Mac and cheese was the best I’ve had in a long time! The sauce was perfect, the amount of lobster was just right, and the onion rings were battered in house and cooked to perfection. The happy hour drink (and regular drink menu) prices are really good, the food is an outstanding value for what you get.
Our server Edith was one of the best we’ve had outside of some very fine dining experiences. She was on point every time, always there to fill our glasses (wine and water) and answered every question succinctly and had great recommendations. I highly recommend going there for a meal or just to enjoy the view of the marina and mountains beyond.👍👍👍👍👍

THE BEST DOG FRIENDLY PATIO ON VANCOUVER ISLAND iS THE SHIP AND SHORE IN DEEP BAY BOWSER.

Last night I visited the Ship and Shore Restaurant with my Mom, Step Dad, Wife , Father In Law and Puppy Looch.

As soon as we arrived the staff asked if we wanted water for my dog while we ate.

This was the first time visiting as I am from the lower mainland . We are in Bowser visiting my parents and we brought my wifes dad who is visiting from the Phillipines.

This restaurant is next to the marina right off the beach.

The sun was going down and tge staff said it gets very bright sometimes and recommended wearing sun glasses if the patio shad table umbrellas were not helping.

Everyone ordered some type of seafood at the dinner and everyone was very happy with how their dinners tasted.

I had the Lobster Bacon burger and I can honestly say it was one of the Greatest Burgers I have ever had in my life. The burger was super juicy and it came with proper large sized home made fries.

I highly recommend eating at this little hidden away DOG FRIENDLY restaurant next time you are on Vancouver Island.

They’ve just re opened under a new owner with a bit longer hours. I believe closed on Tuesday though. I’ve never been there before but heard amazing things so decided to pop in. The 2 piece fish n chips,Cod, were an absolutely mouth watering orgasm in ones mouth! Lightly coated fish was crispy and not one speck of raw batter! The fish was melt in mouth, not greasy really didn’t even need tartar sauce which was yum. Coleslaw was good too. Am a picky eater and rarely eat the coleslaw.
Services was fantastic, restaurant clean, prices reasonable, simply can’t wait to return. I believe in busy season reservations are recommended.

A great stop for happy hour after a day of fishing! Delicious appies and great prices for happy hour drinks and food! Wonderful desserts! The vibe is perfect and love the patio overlooking the Harbour.

We stopped in for a bite and were not disappointed! I had the 1 piece fish and chips, crispy, golden perfection and my husband enjoyed the Lobster Roll, which was packed with authentic East Coast lobster goodness. The onion rings were just as tasty, and you could tell the fryer was clean by how light and crisp everything came out.

Our waitress, Veronika, was a standout, cheerful, professional, and clearly a seasoned pro. The vibe was laid-back with a great 80s music blend in the background, and the waterfront patio had a stunning view and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality seafood and a relaxed setting.

I had the Lobster roll last Saturday, delish! My yam fries were superb, best I’ve ever had, batter was so light and crispy. Hubs said his cheeseburger was excellent and the lager ice cold. Great friendly service and reasonably priced. Great view on the patio, just stunning. A solid 10!
