I have only been here for lunch because it's close to my work but it's one of those pubs that's relaxed and has a lot of regulars. The food is slightly more expensive than what you would expect at a pub but the portions are pretty large, and also it's downtown so I assume that plays a part. It was also kind of cold in there but it's winter time and we were sat closer to the door.

The meat pie was pretty tasty! I would definitely order that again when I want some comfort food. Not too salty either, I was a little worried about that. The crust was good too. The fries here are great, even when you have some leftover and they get cold they still taste good and have good texture.

The chicken pie has a strong broccoli flavour, maybe it was just that batch but it was more a broccoli pie than a chicken pie lol the cream sauce was really good though. I mean the pie still tasted good but I wasn't expecting that much of a broccoli flavour, so it's a good thing I like broccoli

Atmosphere was it's best feature. Our waitress wasn't great but to be fair it got busier the long we were there. What was most impressive were portion sizes, picture attached. Will go again and hope for a better server

Good food and drinks that all came so quick they kind of caught us by surprise! Staff were super friendly and the location was nice in that it's centrally located so quite easy to get to.

Avoid if you don't drink.

As someone who has been sober for 10+ years, I found it uncomfortable that my server repeatedly pushed liquor options on me even after I declined AND said I don't drink. I even said I have to drive a friend home... and their response to that was "You can still have a few...". I've never heard that from a server before (wild behavior). Respecting a customer’s choice should be standard practice, and this made my visit feel unnecessarily awkward.

That said, the food itself was good. I ordered the schnitzel, which was well-prepared and enjoyable. I also appreciated that they had non-alcoholic options like ginger beer. That said, customer service matters more to me than the food, and I hope the staff can be more mindful of guests’ preferences in the future.

Would love to come back if the service improves (or they brush up on their Serving It Right Certifications).
