My wife and I decided to have a relaxing getaway at Moose Meadow Inn, based on a recent recommendation by a good friend. The location was just over an hours drive from where we live. The Inn is on 71 acres consisting of forest and meadow and the long gravel driveway to the lodge included sighting three young deer, a nice start to our "staycation". On first sight the timber and stone lodge is very impressive and the panoramic view is spectacular reaching all the way West to the Rocky Mountains. | We received a warm welcome from the owners Carol and Dave Anderson who quickly shared some of the history and the challenge of building through the Covid pandemic. The main floor, that includes a large table for breakfast and a beautiful patio, is stunning, with a huge stone fireplace and elegant furniture throughout. | Our welcome included a drink of our choice before our hosts showed us to our room. The size of the bedroom with a massive kingsize bed and large bathroom was unexpected. Lots of customized wooden furniture, large solid wooden closet doors with bath robes and a high beamed ceiling, really made a statement. Obviously a lot of thought had gone into the design and quality of materials. Outstanding!| We also had access to a spacious lounge area, separate from the bedroom, where we met other guests. Another large stone fireplace, games area and modern kitchenette provided lots of options for snacks and drinks. The highest quality of materials and design can be seen throughout the whole property and the front garden was brimming with a great variety of plants and flowers.| Other notables: access to a large deck from our bedroom with chairs and a table to enjoy a drink or relax and absorb the amazing view. Bathroom with a large shower where all of the water stayed inside the shower! High quality soaps and shampoo and a Toto toilet. A nice fridge near the bed to store your own drinks and food, if desired. Tea and coffee also. A series of short walking trails around the property and easy access to several small towns in the area, including Turner Valley, Black Diamond and Longview. The Chuckwagon restaurant in Turner Valley is a must for lunch. Very good food, service and lively atmosphere. If you just want a pizza , Mr. Food is only a one minute walk from the Chuckwagon. In Black Diamond, less than a 10 minute drive from Turner Valley, check out the Black Diamond Bar in the hotel of the same name. | In summary, the Moose Meadow Inn is a precious gem for international travellers and those who live as close as Calgary. Carol and Dave are wonderful caring hosts. The breakfasts are great and vary each day. One of the best memories for us will be the long conversations we had at the breakfast table with our hosts and other guests .Stimulating discussions without anyone checking their phones for the lates email! |Les and Fran Hewitt, July 2025

We spent two lovely nights at Moose Meadow and had the best time. The breakfasts were delcious and our hosts were friendly and welcoming. They were knowledgeable of the area and made wonderful recommendations on what to see locally. The accommodations were even more than we were expected and the rates were affordable and reasonable. We would absolutely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Two of my friends and I stayed one night on our way to Waterton in June. Each of us had our own fabulously appointed room and bathroom. We sat back in our own common room to watch playoff hockey and visit. There is a kitchen there where you can do snacks.
The peaceful atmosphere and lovely trails are a bonus. My friend saw her first moose.
Breakfast was gourmet and we loved chatting with Carol and Dave. It was hard to leave and we never felt rushed. Book it.. you will not regret one minute…

What a gem of a place! Carol and Dave are such wonderful hosts and their property is simply stunning. Staying at Moose Meadow Inn was a real treat and after 8 years of living in Canada, I finally saw a MOOSE!! My first ever moose sighting - special thanks to Dave for alerting me in the early hours of the morning. The rooms are huge and tastefully decorated, and the breakfasts were so yummy. Thank you, Carol and Dave! I hope to see you again one day.

The place was crazy amazing and we had beautiful weather so the view was spectacular. Hosts were unbelievable and if I had to say one thing it would be about the breakfast. They served margarine I didn’t ask for butter so maybe they had it but who serves margarine 😳.

Beautiful lodging option in Alberta. Premium location, views, and food quality. Hosts Dave & Carol are welcoming, and caring! Highly recommend.

We spent two nights at Moose Meadows recently and loved it. Carol and Dave are wonderful hosts and the house is amazing. It's a huge timber frame that's impeccably decorated. The breakfasts we had were delicious with fresh fruit, home made waffles and yummy bacon.
The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The views of the mountains across the meadow was beautiful. We were lucky enough to see a beautiful display of northern lights as well.
We were hoping to see some moose in the meadow and weren't disappointed. On the morning we left there were five moose. A bull with his two lady friends and another cow with her calf.
To top it off there's Indiana, a loving friendly black Lab. He's just a sweetheart. We highly recommend staying here if even to just get away from the city for one night.

We had a lovely, quiet 2-night stay. We stayed in the Queen Suite, which had a separate sitting room, ensuite bathroom, and private entrance. We also had access to the deck which had sweeping views of the valley all the way to the mountains when it was clear. We saw Mule Deer both evenings and my husband also saw Elk. The breakfasts were delicious and much more than we would eat normally (think courses.) Dave and Carol were lovely and accommodated our every request. Their dog, Indy, helped to alleviate missing my own while on vacation. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area. A lot to see and do within a day's drive.
