We stayed 2 nights at Spark by Hilton in Guelph. We chose this hotel because of Hilton reputation, and it was almost the only hotel in Guelph that segregated pets to specific floors.||||We stayed at this property when it was a Holiday Inn Express.||This is a newly (completely) renovated property and the results are really nice.||Room Features||+ Very soundproof (seems like concrete between the rooms)||+ Laminate flooring (instead of carpet)||+ Very large new TV with major streaming services that you can use your personal login with||+ 3 multi-charging stations, each with USB-A, USB-C, wireless Mag safe pad and 2 AC outlets (something I've never seen in a hotel before)||+ Nice heating and aircon control||+ Comfortable king bed||+ Mini fridge||+ Microwave||+ Environmentally friendly dispensers in the bathroom||+ 3 Wall hooks||+ Blackout drapes||+ Proper adjustable desk work-chair||+ Desk has a swing out portion to double its size and orient to eat on while watching TV||+ Iron and Ironing board||+Tub shower combo||||- No freezer in the mini fridge||- No safe||- No kettle or coffee making equipment (although coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the lobby)||||The lobby has a well-stocked store with meals and snacks along with a microwave.||We used the gym. It's small but well equipped with the essential aerobics' machines and free weights and a sanitizing station.||||There's a nice small pool which we did not use.||The breakfast area is nice, and the free selection is OK. There are no hot prepared meals.||||Although our room was super quiet (3rd floor end of hall), we noticed a gap underneath the entry door. A good improvement would be to install a simple door sweep to cut down on potential hall noise.||||Staff were friendly and this hotel really did feel like a quiet oasis.

Front desk staff was a little benign and not very helpful regarding my Expedia reservation not reaching the hotel’s system by the time arrived. Aside from that, the bath tub was not cleaned properly. Everything else was great, room cleanliness, amenities and ease of checkout in the morning. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if I am ever back in Guelph.

Really loved staying here. The room was nice, service was lovely and everything was clean and welcoming. The main thing that stuck out the is the sheets on the beds are an otherworldly material. Quite literally the most comfortable sheets I’ve ever used and I’m writing this review in the vain hope of discovering what brand they are and how to acquire them.

I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff was exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making check-in smooth and pleasant.||The room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean — it felt like everything had been prepared with great care. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job keeping things spotless throughout my stay.

Checked into a completely dirty room with pictures to prove. And checked out after going for dinner, to drive 3 hours home instead of staying here. Dog hair everywhere. Mold looking around the tub over flow. Soap scum covered tub and walls. Mirror looked like it was cleaned with a mop. Dog hair everywhere. My wifes allergic to top it off. Terrible all around experience

There fix was to offer 50% off another stay.

Not something I thought id ever experience at a hilton ran hotel.

We only have good things to say about our stay here. When we were given our room, it stank of smoke. We went down to the front desk and explained the situation and he immediately gave us another room which was perfect. Staff was accommodating & the breakfast had a great variety. Despite there being a lacrosse tournament in the city, they kept the families on one floor which allowed other guests privacy and quiet.
