Never stay at this place for the second time the owner switched our room on us and told us we had no other choice even though we booked the specific room we wanted almost 2 months in advance and we were guaranteed that room only to show up at check in time to be told we couldn’t have that one . They gave us a room on the second floor which we explained that I couldn’t climb stairs and needed a room on the first level the owner said that it was my problem and I had to deal with it. We had already paid for the room and it was too far to go home. The only good part was the lady staff member found us another place to stay. This was the second time the owner did this to us. If he couldn’t accommodate us he should have contacted us before the check in day to let us know.

Deerview Lodge was the best spot we could have hoped for. Travelling through town on bikes, we needed a place to stay at the last minute. With everything in town fully booked, we rang Deerview Lodge where Raymond and Andrea assured us we would have a place to stay. We were met with the kindest couple who opened a space for us, and their hospitality was so generous after a long few days of pedalling and tenting. Would highly recommend staying here.

In early May, I booked 7 rooms via Expedia for July 18. I received the confirmation emails from both Expedia and Deerview Lodges. Later on, two families cancelled the trip. So we reserved 5 rooms for 5 families. On July 18, at noon time, I received a phone call from this motel and was told they were closed and had no rooms available for us. I asked the lady who called me why they didn't inform Expedia earlier. She said they did but Expedia forgot to upgrade the website.

We had to stop driving and started looking for another hotel to live. Unfortunately the hotels in Princeton all sold out. Finally, we found one in another town where was two hours driving from Princeton. Because of this change, it delayed our trip and we had to cancel some plans. After we found a hotel to live, I phoned Expedia and told them what happened. The receptionist told me they never received any notice from Deerview lodges that the motel would be closed on July 18. The receptionist put me on hold and called the motel to investigate. Then the receptionist told me the motel said they opened today. As we were driving through mountains, the phone call with Expedia was disconnected.

At 6pm on that day, we drove pass by Deerview lodges and found out they were open. We stopped in front of their office and phoned the motel again. I asked the lady if they had rooms today. She said No. I asked if they closed today. She said they opened every day and they never closed. Then I told her why I received a phone call at noon and was told they were closed today. She realized that was me whom she talked to 6 hours ago. Then she started making stories. As I kept questioning her, she got mad at me.

I have travelled to so many places and stayed in many motels and hotels, I never ever had this issue before.

Definitely I don't recommend this motel at all!!!

TO RESPOND THE OWNER'S COMMENTS:
First: after I booked 7 rooms on May 6, I called the motel on May 7 to check some information. At that time, I wasn't told the motel would be closed on July 18. But on July 18 at 11:48am, I received your call and was told the motel was closed and there were no rooms available for us. Actually the motel wasn't closed at all on July 18.
Please tell me what you think this kind of conversation is.

Second: it was Expedia who provided us help. They tried to help us find another hotel to live. When they knew we spent more money on the new hotel we found, they paid us the price difference even though this wasn't their fault at all. It was the owner of the hotel where we would live in on July 19 helped us look for another place to live.
Please tell me what you did for us except for a phone call cancelled our reservation on July 18. Please post any evidence here, calls, emails, ect.

I was visiting a friend but there's very little here except your room. no laundry facility either for guests...it's a good place to stay if you're exhausted by travelling and need a rest. no perks, no frills just plain...if you have no expectation it's perfect!

A bit dated but priced accordingly.
On the main highway but I didn't hear traffic so that's a plus! On the trans Canada trail so fun walking!

We stayed at Deerview Lodge for the recent long weekend and it worked well for us. Three generations of my family shared three cottages, all of which were nicely appointed, comfortable and clean. Deerview is an older place. It isn’t fancy but it represents good value, and is run by a friendly husband and wife team who were happy to accommodate our needs. I would certainly come back!

I was working in Princeton for what was only supposed to be the day but things changed and found myself either having to drive 2.5 hrs home and back in the morning or stay overnight. Well I started phoning around and driving around and all I found was no vacancy! But when I was just about ready to make the drive home my boss reached out to the most kind people you will ever meet at deerview. Raymond and Andrea took me into their own home that they had set up as a B&B; I had nothing so they set me up with toothbrush, soap, the works! Raymond and Andrea were so kind and helpful to someone they had never met , opened their home to a complete stranger suck a great experience!!True kind people and I will never forget this! Thank you so much Raymond and Andrea!!!

The place is a bit rough around the edges, but it was fine for a place to sleep for a night. Our motel room was large and clean; the bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. Some kind of table would have been nice, but otherwise it had everything we needed.
