Bel hôtel très bien situé, près de l’autoroute, à quelques minutes d'Halifax, 2 restaurants dans l’établissement, piscine, chambre avec mini cuisine (j’aurais aimé avoir du savon vaisselle sous la main) sinon nous avons beaucoup apprécié, la porte coulissante pour séparer la chambre du salon est géniale car elle coupe le bruit du corridor et de l’ascenseur qui était juste à côté de notre chambre. Le lit était bruyant mais probablement que c’est négligeable, nous avons quand même bien dormi.

Nous avons passé un bon séjour de trois jours à cet hôtel. Moderne avec plafonds hauts, nous avions la chambre avec la mini kitchenette, c'était super. À côté de plusieurs restaurants et commerces. Superbe piscine.||Nous avons oublié notre haut-parleur Bluetooth, nous avons communiqué avec l'hôtel et il l'avait retrouvé, et envoyé par Purolotar. Très honnête de leur part.||Les deux seules choses qui nous empêchent de donner cinq étoiles est la propreté de la chambre; les miroirs étaient sales, le frigo n'a pas été vidé, le plancher était gommé et sale dans la kitchenette. La propreté défaillante semble être un refrain dans tous les hôtels Sandman que nous avons séjournés, Nous avons connus vraiment mieux au fil du temps.||Aussi, aucune salle de lavage, ce qui est très désagréable quand vous restez trois jours en famille.||Nous y retournerons surement un jour, le prix est bon.

The best hotel ever! If you’re visiting Halifax, this is the place you must stay. It offers top-level comfort, a pool with slides you can see from the water park, and above all, the staff are incredibly kind. I was so happy to spend my birthday trip at this hotel.

Especially the front desk staff, Yaryna and Jasleen, truly made my day.
To the manager or anyone with authority to recognize staff members — please, kindly acknowledge their hard work and outstanding service. Thanks to their kindness, we’re already planning to come back to Halifax soon, and we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Our recent stay at the Sandman Signature Dartmouth was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we booked to the moment we checked out, the service, staff, and overall experience exceeded all expectations.

We were organizing a special Slumber Party Birthday for our daughter — and while other hotels didn’t quite know what to make of the idea, Caitlin Harvie embraced it with enthusiasm, kindness, and care. She made us feel like VIPs and treated our booking like it was the most important one in the hotel. That meant so much to us, especially as we don’t have family here in Nova Scotia. Caitlin, along with Rukman Kaur, went above and beyond to make everything seamless and stress-free. Coordinating a family gathering can be overwhelming, but they gave me confidence at every step that everything would be just right — and it truly was.

The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and comfortable, with an atmosphere that makes families feel welcomed and wanted — which is invaluable. My whole family was so impressed and is already planning to book again in November.

One of the most touching moments was arriving to find a special gift in the room for our daughter. She was thrilled — you could see on her face how special she felt, and that feeling carried through the entire weekend. Her friends were amazed and maybe a bit jealous ha ha; the setting made everything feel truly magical.

The pool was a hit with the kids — and even though the hotel was sold out that weekend, the staff did a fantastic job keeping the space clean and stocked with towels. It's that kind of quiet excellence that really stood out to us.

I also want to highlight a small but incredibly meaningful act of kindness: I had a migraine on the morning of checkout and sent my daughter down to buy Tylenol. She returned with a bottle — and told me the front desk didn’t charge her. That moment of care and understanding meant everything. I was upstairs, trying to pack up with four children on my own, and that simple gesture provided such relief and support in a moment when I really needed it.

The kitchenette in the suite was another wonderful feature — perfect for keeping drinks and the birthday cake chilled, and even better for making waffles for 12 people the next morning! It gave us the flexibility we needed to host family in a relaxed and welcoming space.

As a wedding and event planner, I see a lot of hotels and hospitality experiences — and I can say with full confidence that the Sandman Signature Dartmouth stands out for all the right reasons. I will absolutely be recommending it to my couples and their guests, and to anyone looking for a place that combines beauty, affordability, and outstanding service.

I do hope people take the time to read the bad reviews on this hotel. I made the mistake of not doing so.
I’ll start with the rooms themselves. I found them to be clean and beds were comfortable. However apparently sound proofing is such an issue that my daughter and her friend singing was enough to land us a noise complaint. To which we were told, if it continued, we’d have to pay for all the rooms around us.
For a higher end family friendly hotel I’m shocked at how unaccommodating they are. I requested Twice well in advance to have the two rooms we rented close to each other since they apparently don’t have conjoined rooms. Upon arrival, our rooms were 12 rooms apart, complete opposite ends of the hallway when I spoke to staff about it, I was told there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked, even though at that time rooms Closer together, we’re being cleaned and did not have anyone in them. Then I requested a cot for one of our rooms and was told they don’t have them. I found the desk staff mostly Friendly except for one man who was very rude. So take this as a warning if you’re travelling with kids, and need multiple room rooms that you’re not like likely to have them close together.

I stayed here with my family while visiting Halifax. We checked into a room with two beds after 9 pm. The room was nicely updated, and initially, we were quite happy. But when we got ready for bed, we found the beds and pillows were very dirty. There were various hairs, including pubic hairs, under the blankets and on the pillows. It was really disgusting. It seemed like the cleaning staff just tidied up the beds without properly changing the sheets and pillowcases. This shows poor quality control from the hotel.

I spoke with the front desk staff, a man and a woman, but they were very cold and unhelpful. They only said they would send housekeeping to clean, but they didn’t apologize or express any regret. This lack of basic courtesy really shocked me. Usually, housekeeping issues aren’t a huge problem, but front desk staff should at least apologize politely.

They sent a young man to clean around 10 pm. I gave him a tip hoping he would clean more thoroughly. Overall, this experience was very disappointing and does not meet the standards I expect from a hotel. I cannot recommend staying here unless these issues are fixed.

So very pleased with our recent stay at the Dartmouth Sandman. Upon check-in we were greeted by the very friendly and competent Jada. Each and every time we have dealt with her, it’s been a great experience.||We made several visits last year and we had made one recommendation in our review and we were extremely pleased to see that our recommendation had been implemented. Kudos to you Sandman for taking our suggestion and acting upon it!!! We had noticed that there wasn’t a place to sit or leave a towel close to the hot tub, and upon visiting this trip, we see that the issue has been addressed. ||Our hotel stay was top notch. Very comfortable bed, great night sleep, lovely clean room, seamless check-in/check-out, friendly and helpful staff. We had a king room with kitchenette and there was everything you could possibly need in the room. Amenities are amazing at this hotel. Thank you Sandman, thank you Jada, we’ll be back, can’t wait!!!
