Lakeside Bed & Breakfast - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

First and for most, big thank you to Crystal for the great place and great hospitality. She had us with a great start in the morning with a great breakfast everyday. We stayed in the suite and it was plenty of room for 4 adults( half wall separating both king size bed and double size bed) Also a futon in the common area if u have an extra person or 2. First time that we were trying a B&B and she set the bar high for the other ones in our books. We initially booked 3 days and then booked two more.|||| We travel by motorcycle from Ottawa Canada to Darmouth at the end of June 2016. The B&B is Close to the shopping mall and grocery store as well as gas station. For the motorcycle avid, Great area looks like good neighbourhood to leave the bike outside. We had no issues, however if you want your bike covered by a carport or garage not a possibility at this time. Washer and dryer available for 2$ per load.|||| We would definitely recommend this place to our friends if they were in this area.

We stayed here for 5 days in June 2016. We had initially booked for 3 days and the service was so fantastic we added another two. ||Crystal is a fantastic host !! We were greeted by her and brought right in for a tour. It's a basement suite with a private entrance. ||In the suite was a large living/dining/kitchen area with access to the upstairs for meals and socializing. We talked every morning and she has fabulous recommendations for off the beaten path spots. ||The bedroom is huge with a king sized canopy bed and a double bed separated by a half wall with a stained glass panel. There is also a library in the bedroom with a walk in closet and a desk for doing business. ||The bathroom was huge and had a full whirlpool tub and shower. ||In the back yard you walk out to a beautiful view of Lake Banook. It was nice to watch the rowers and paddlers every morning while we ate. ||And now on to the "breakfast" portion of this B&B. Each morning we were greeted with a generous portion of fresh fruit with yogurt. Then there was a more substantial selection that came with it. We sampled Creme Brûlée French Toast, Omelettes, and lots of other traditional and non traditional breakfast creations. All simply divine !! There was always lots of coffee and juices and great conversation to start the day. She is very flexible to the start times for your day and menu options. Everything was discussed for the next day before we left the breakfast table. ||The home has a couple of dehumidifiers that run, and this is simply a reality of living in Atlantic Canada without it the moisture is unbearable. ||Laundry is available here for $2/load. ||The home is a short walk to Mic Mac Mall and is a 20 min walk to the ferry terminal. For events on Lake Banook her back yard offers swimming and a short walk to the race course for paddling events. She is at the 1000m start marker. ||Although we showed up on motorcycles and I'm sure looked like "bikers" we were greeted with the feel of family that Nova Scotia is known for. We felt very much at home. ||We can't wait to come back !!

This B&B has an outstanding location on Lake Bannock. The guest suite,where we stayed for three nights, is located on lower floor of a large house. Guests use a private entrance to enter the large living area. There is a bedroom has one king canopy bed and one double bed, a kitchen area, and a large bathroom. It is apparent that some maintenance is needed, the path leading to the guest entrance is in bad condition, and could be risky for many people. The mini-blinds in the living area are broken, and the level of housekeeping needs to be improved. The owner works full time and we felt rushed to finish breakfast so she could leave for work. There is easy access to stores, local transport, and a local park. This could be an outstanding B&B, but it needs some TLC.

Stayed here for 4 nights in August whilst attending family wedding in area.The Royal Room is large and very comfortable- large comfortable bed, reclining armchairs with lake view, large walk in wardrobe area and well appointed bathroom.|The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts very good. The location is excellent, very pleasant residential area on Lake Banook with dock, kayaks etc. Very convenient for visiting downtown Dartmouth, ferries to Halifax etc. Convenient and easy to find after arrival at Halifax Airport.|Many thanks for a very pleasant stay.
