Tribute Tower looks nice from the outside, but the actual living experience is disappointing. The food, aside from breakfast, is terrible most of the time. Meals are bland, repetitive, and sometimes not even cooked properly — I’ve been served steak that was still raw. For a CAF facility, this is unacceptable.

Noise control is non-existent. S3s and S2s are constantly blasting music in the hallways, and the walls are so thin you can hear full conversations from the next room. After long shifts, don’t expect peace and quiet here. They’re blasting music at 1am, commissionaire walks by and doesn’t say anything to them.

The beds are rock solid, like sleeping on concrete. Washroom vents don’t even work, so the rooms get stuffy fast. These are basic comfort issues that shouldn’t be happening in military accommodations.

One thing that really stood out was the inconsistency in enforcing rules. I was stopped by a PO at the galley entrance for wearing flip-flops and told I couldn’t enter. I respected it, went back to change. But when I returned, a white member behind me entered the galley in flip-flops and the same PO didn’t say a word. As a brown member, it’s hard not to notice the double standard. Obviously, I couldn’t say anything to the PO as the system works in their favour.

Tribute Tower seriously needs improvements in food quality, discipline enforcement, and how standards are applied. Right now, it feels like the bare minimum effort is being made, and it shows.

It's caf accommodations, not a luxury hotel! The fact you don't have a communal shower alone (compared to esquimalt) is a blessing. Bar downstairs, Laundry on every floor, Foods great, multiple gyms close by, friendly staff. One of the best stays one could ask for.

Bed bug galore but other than that this is one of the best accommodations in the CAF for JRs.

First time staying here for a course and heard so many good things before coming here. Tribute tower is like a hotel but because it looks like one doesn’t mean it’s ran like one (housekeeping, free mini toiletries, coffee machine, etc. I say this as I was part of the hospitality industry) so always ensure you pack what you need for the short and long term stays, especially after reading the comments. Not sure if they have their own website but maybe they should also include what’s included in the rooms. They do have a mini fridge, microwave, cable, private shower, lots of closet space and wifi.

The rooms clean for the most part, has a booklet for all the info you need for emergency drills, who to call on base, etc. cleaning products are provided by the front desk and toilet paper which is great. You can buy your own if you’re staying here more than a few weeks.

The galley is making awesome food! Kudos to them! Staff so far are nice as well.

They do have a small gym with basic equipment, elevators are available so you’re not lugging your luggage like in Borden or nelles block. They have a garbage room on the main floor as well for days you maintain your room.

Only nuisance in my room is the finicky thermostat. It’s always cold in my room…I’m literally layered up and trying to keep warm.

Front desk staff (commissionaires & enlisted folks) are great and super helpful, but the keycard system for entry into rooms is lacking. I personally witnessed multiple issues (card or lock failures). If the lock fails then no one can get into the room without having to go through a process involving several tumbler keys to actually unlock the doors, and then its a matter of WHEN the issue can be corrected, in the meantime leaving your door propped open if you have to go out, which is a bit of a security concern. Overall, great location and amenities, but be aware that just like any other type of accommodation, there are some issues.

I host karaoke at the Atlantic Fleet Club, on the ground floor. This is the Fleet Master Sailor & Below lounge and night club. Great place for troops and guests to unwind. Drink specials, games room with pool tables and arcade games, and outstanding entertainment. The staff are amazing!!
