This is the best B&B that we have stayed in. The Carriage Room was very comfortable and well furnished. Martin and Diane were wonderful hosts. Martin was a fountain of knowledge if you needed any information about Halifax area. Diane prepared the most wonderful breakfasts you can imagine. We stayed for 6 days and every morning was very enjoyable. They made us feel so welcome and we were sad to leave.

My wife and I spent two nights at this beautifully renovated B&B. Diane & Martin are most accommodating hosts. Breakfasts are homemade and delicious and are served along with interesting conversation about the house, the area and the Maritimes in general. We had the Carriage Room which had a private bathroom across the hall which posed no great inconvenience. Everything was spotless. The location is half way between the airport and Halifax, 15 minutes either way with easy access into downtown Halifax.

My husband and I stayed at Heritage Hideaway in August of 2018. Diane and Martin were superb hosts, and we loved our time at their place. Diane is a marvelous cook; her breakfasts were first rate cuisine to be sure! Martin's sly sense of humor made breakfast conversation quite entertaining. The house is decorated in first class style and our room was both luxurious and cozy. We still talk about what a lovely experience we had at Heritage Hideaway.

We arrived at this lovely spot late on a rainy night after a long day of plane travel. The B&B is very easy to find from the Halifax airport. The minute we opened the door we felt comforted. Sch a beautiful litle place, every inch decorated in period style and colors (and lots of fringe!). All tastefully done, with no excess. All the appointments in the room perfect, just as pictured. Very quiet except for one evocative train whistle. Hosts all one could wish--and breakfast great (including the coffee, always a priority for us). Two regrets--that we were only staying one night, and that the incessant rain prevented us from enjoying the lovely garden. Guess we'll have to go back!

We stopped at this b&b on two occasions during a self-guided tour of Nova Scotia and Cape Breton. The hostess was gracious, and very helpful with directions and advice. The room was comfortable, and the breakfasts amazing. One small detail was the traffic noise, but it quieted nicely after dark. It is not as far to the airport as places in Halifax.

During our holiday in U.S.A/Canada we stayed in 14 properties. some claimed to be 5 star. Honestly, I think sometimes these were self awarded. This property was the real deal. Martin and Deanne are great hosts, and while the 4 poster bed with canopy was a bit over the top and claustrophobic we appreciated this renovated property.||||Breakfast was pure theatre with every dish being a standout, and possibly one of the best we experienced. The property is located in a pleasant suburban street. There is a bus to Halifax that takes about 45 minutes an we recommend this way rather than finding parking in this large city. Deanne even gave us muffins to take when we left. It is the little bit more that makes the difference between O.K and wonderful.||We highly recommend this accommodation.

A handy and attractive location for a visit to Halifax, warm and friendly hosts, good-sized comfortable rooms, good beds, very generous breakfasts with homemade baking; it's all there. We enjoyed our three nights at Martin and Diane's, and you will too.

We only stayed 1 night with Diane and Martin, I could have stayed a week ! The accommodation is second to none, very comfortable, beautifully decorated and the breakfast was just amazing ! Diane bakes her own scones and muffins and the egg and spinach breakfast roulade with ham was delicious |She even gave us the recipe |She even gave us muffins to take away and we were full after our plain and raisin scones|
