Went to the new Halifax location today. Had a few non anlcoholic drinks and got some of the Mexican soda. I had the chicken burger. So moist and balanced. Loved the chips as a side, very well flavoured. My kids actually tried new food and enjoyed it all!
Very bright beautiful dining area.
Great service, the chef even came out to chat!
Will be making this a regular spot on our outings.

Came here last week for lunch, had 4 tacos, the birria (sorry for spelling) and I think it was carne Asada. Both were fantastic and full of flavour. However, for the cost of what was 30+ dollars including a small bottle of diet Pepsi, the portion size was quite small, and ended up hungry still after eating. There was only 1 person working and a ton of customers, and he handled it like a champ with fantastic customer service. Overall I would come here again because the tacos are top notch.. but preparing myself to spend at least 40-50 bucks to leave with a full stomach.

authentic Mexican food. I had the quesadilla, Andy chicken tikka braised beef and shrimp tacos. Everything was excellent.

We stopped in for some tacos and nachos. The service was attentive despite only one person working at the time.

We tried each of the four tacos, but subbed mushroom out for chorizo sausage. The tacos were delicious, and the nachos were too!

The interior is not very big, definitely more of a carry and go kind of spot, but don't let that deter you!-- if you enjoy quality authentic Mexican food, this is the spot you're looking for!

A hidden gem for sure, food was fantastic I had the pork shoulder tacos and my son have braised beef nachos. Both were excellent and nicely portioned!
Kitchen was completely spotless. Owner was a doll and food was served fresh and quick!

I was really excited but ended up disappointed. We had the tacos and the burrito. The tacos were favorful but a bit watery, and soggy. The burrito was disappointing. It said “with rice and beans” on the menu which meant there were some inside, i thought it would come with rice and beans on the side. The burrito had next to no flavour, and I ended up waiting till I went home to eat with salsa.

It’s hard to find good Mexican food in Halifax but I won’t be going back here. To me it was on par with a chain like habaneros, where at least you can customize and they add salsa!

I have been to this fine Mexican establishment several times for takeout and eat in and would Highly Recommend it!

I lived in Mexico for 3 years and know Mexico from visiting the south since 1992 so I know good Mexican food first hand!

And the food at El Este Taquería is Way Up there!

I have yet been able to try their Huevos Rancheros served on the weekend but my mouth is already watering thinking 🤔 of finally getting to try them!

Their service is Very Friendly and the sonrisas son gratis, Their Smiles 😄 are Free!

Stopped in for lunch tacos and was not disappointed. The small dining area was clean, the counter service was prompt and informative, and the food was flavourful! Worth a stop if you've got a craving for tacos! I will definitely be back to try some of the other menu options.
