The fellow I met on site while shopping for some camping food was outstanding. I believe he is the owner of the store and the liquor store adjacent. A more accommodating man would be hard to find. I'll shop here again, Wizard Lake is very close and this store is a great place to get your staples.

re: Calmar Foods & Subs
Late afternoon Thurs Jan 25 2024 we stopped on our way home to get a few things including hamburger buns.
We were having hamburgers for supper. Hamburgers were almost done and Audrey was getting the fixins'
ready: she opened the package of buns and they are green with mold on the bottoms. The next day, Friday
she phoned Calmar Foods and expressed her surprise and dissatisfaction. The lady on the phone said,"Don't
bring them back on the weekend, we (owners) wouldn't be there". Audrey said, "We'll be in next week".
Owner lady said ok. Finally today we got back to Calmar to return the buns and exchange them for "unmouldy"
ones.
What came next is shocking! Normal grocery store people would say, "We are soo sorry this happened to you!"
"Here are the replacement buns."....THAT did not happen. The owners berated Audrey for buying these buns:
it was HER fault! "We don't know you!" "Don't you check 'best before' dates?" RUDE, OBNOXIOUS! The (man) owner
told Audrey that he would do this, this time, but never again..."I'm out of pocket on these buns".
Pure, unadulterated very poor very bad business practices.
Don't worry, we will never set foot in your store again!
To another post here: we live in RURAL Alberta....we don't live in Edmonton. Don't waste your time and
patience with these folks....drive the few kilometers to either Thorsby or Leduc... you'll be much
happier!

So I can tell by the comments who's from the city... Its a small town grocery store. Walk in with a smile and say hello, you'll get that back. I did. The lady and the boy were both very friendly Yes some of the food is more expensive. But you'll spend more time and money driving to Leduc or the city. No they don't have "everything" but they have what you need... Support local.

Their packaging tape they got from "U-Haul" is expired and kept tearing away as you try to use it. After about two hour's of this, and a meltdown, I went back to Calmar Food Town to notify them that their packaging tape was expired and no good anymore, and that they should remove the remaining three roll's from the shelf before somebody else waste's their money. The owner's wife refused to remove them, argued with me about it, then had an attitude at the till. 😠😠😠
They're charging almost $8.00 for a 2 litre of milk. 😮 I get it for just over $4.50 at the Superstore. I've "boycotted" them now, I'll never buy anything from there again. It's actually cheaper to just drive to Devon when you figure in their price gouging. 😠

Rave to Calmar Food Town subs!! Moved here a few months ago and have been disappointed by the lack of affordable fast food, until now. Super grateful for the tasty subs and friendly service!

Absolutely the worst customer service ever
Went there to return a uhaul
They tried refusing the return
The staff started yelling at me and he called the manager...
Then the manager started yelling at me
Then I sent my wife to get my refund from uhaul, and they were screaming at her as well
Just moved into town
I will never set foot in this store again
I hope Noone in calmar supports this business either
Absolutely disgusting the way they treat their customers
