The best place to spend time to take care of our bodies and minds.
The instructors are the best - highly professional and super trained.
The atmosphere is simply amazing, with many activities to challenge our physical abilities and also relax and de -stress of the routine.

Eh. It’s a cool gym cuz it’s so big and it’s got so much equipment but it’s so busy you might as well be working out at a tiny gym. Additionally, it’s got none of the cool spa stuff a place like altea has. It’s also kinda got a weird smell to it. Personally I’d rather just work out at a smaller gym with less people.

On February 9, 2025, and February 14, 2025, I purchased two 10-pass cards for my children to participate in rock climbing. At the time of purchase, I was informed that parents could accompany their children for supervision without additional charges, as long as they did not participate in climbing.

Since purchasing the passes, we have used them two times without issue. However, today, when we arrived to use the remaining eight sessions, I was suddenly informed that in addition to my children’s passes, I, as a parent, must now pay for a 1-day pass simply to accompany them. This was never communicated at the time of purchase, nor was there any prior written notice about this change.

Why This Policy Change Is Unfair:

1. No Prior Notice – This change was implemented without any written communication or prior warning. Parents were not informed when purchasing the passes.
2. Breach of Original Agreement – We purchased the passes under the original terms and had already used them two times without this restriction. Changing the policy midway through usage is highly unreasonable.
3. Forced Payment for Non-Participants – Children under 14 cannot enter alone, meaning parents have no choice but to pay this additional fee—even if they do not participate in climbing.
4. Discrimination Against Non-Climbing Parents – Due to personal health reasons, I am physically unable to participate in rock climbing. It is unfair to charge me for an activity I cannot engage in, while my role is strictly to supervise my children.
5. Lack of Clear Resolution from Staff – When I raised my concerns with staff, they simply said they needed to "consult with management" but gave no resolution or response.
6. Emotional Distress for My Children – My children were extremely disappointed and upset when they were told they could not climb today. Despite my refusal to pay the unfair extra fee, the staff denied us entry and insisted on enforcing the new rule.

I have been to this gym since when it was just built. During the pandemic, I went to other gyms for probably 3 years, but went back to this gym again. In my opinion, this gym probably is the best gym in the city. Big enough with lots of equipment, and it also has indoor running track. I also go to the swimming pool once every week, but make sure you check the swimming pool time table first, some lanes or pools are reserved for events or classes. Although the gym is big, I found it is still really packed during rush hours (4:30 pm - 6:30 pm ish), you may have difficulty to find the equipment you want to use that isn't occupied. Therefore, I usually go around or after 7:00 pm. The parking is free after 4:30 pm and during weekends, otherwise you probably need to pay for parking, unless you have something like parking pass (or whatever it is called). Price wise, they give alumni good discount so it is much more cost effective than other commercial gyms for those who graduated from U of M.

One of the best gyms in Winnipeg but you gotta time it right because it can be very busy and youll need to wait for the workout machines you need.

Nice enough gym and lots of facilities, but even after buying the membership, unless I want to go at peak hours in the evening on weekdays or on the weekend, i have to pay for parking in the gym lot ontop of the membership
