We loved our stay here. The cabin is cozy, well equipped, and very private. It's nestled in to some dense brush and trees at the back of the property along a wooden boardwalk. You really get to enjoy being in the middle of the rainforest and feeling miles away from everything, yet the excellent Chesterman beach is just steps away. The cabin is beautiful inside, rustic but well equipped with a full kitchen and comfy living area downstairs. The loft steps are steep but manageable and there's plenty of room. The cabin is also pet friendly!||||Baku is a great host - helpful without being intrusive, very welcoming, and a great cook. Breakfasts are indeed carb-heavy but absolutely delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would visit again for sure.

Great location, and friendly. Baku makes you feel very welcome. We were greeted in the driveway upon our return, and he even offered to help carry things to the cabin. We were treated to breakfasts each morning which reduces the cost of your getaway. The cabin is outfitted very well. Lots of dishes, and things to cook with. A full size gas stove, and medium size fridge. There is also a coffee maker. The outdoor shower is great for rinsing off after a winter surf. Trail is right in front of the house which brings you to the middle of North Chestermans beach.

We first found African Beach about six years ago when we got married. We instantly fell in love with the cabin, and all of its natural driftwood and African themes - the photos in the loft were taken by Baku's father. Fully functional kitchen, cozy sitting room...and no matter which window you look out you are treated to a moss-covered forest...it's like living in a treehouse! We just went back to celebrate our anniversary, and once again, Baku was super friendly and gave us some great information on some local places to visit. His breakfasts are amazing, and start your day perfectly. The beach is across a narrow, quiet road and we were treated to every kind of weather - which was amazing. We've decided to return every year on our anniversary. Thanks, Baku!

Two adults one teen, 5 nights. Perfect location, beautiful cabin, delicious breakfasts, and a working kitchen. I loved the rainforest path leading up to the cabin. Flashlights are provided if you're coming back at night. There's a perfect parking area right out front which easily fits a good sized car. Whilst rustic in appearance, the cabin has everything you could need including a kitchen with fridge and stove. Older, but functional. We stocked up on drinks and ate most of our meals out. (Jamie's Restaurant is just up the road at the Jamie's Tofino Rainforest Inn, didn't need a reservation unlike in town, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced.) The cabin is beautiful mid-afternoon when light filters through the skylights. It can be a bit dark, but there are plenty of lights. Lots of outlets for the various electronic gear we had with us - was able to upload my pics and charge my camera easily. Internet connection was fast and rock solid (apparently this is fairly new to the Tofino area). The wooden adirondack chairs on the small balcony look 'rustic' but are totally usable. Sat out there with a glass of wine several afternoons. The sliding door was a bit sticky, but still opened. Queen bed in the loft was comfy - stairs can be a bit hairy if you're uncoordinated, but there's a light switch right at the top so if you have the misfortune to require a middle of the night bathroom break. (If you're mobility challenged or have a weak bladder, you might want the hideabed!) Breakfasts were delicious - who doesn't love a few carbs on vacation - and for the 'no protein' complainers, there's a fridge and a stove, buy and add your own. Baku was friendly and gave us tips for places to see/eat. Easy access to everything. Chesterman Beach is less than a two minute walk across the road, and stunning! Even on the week before the August long weekend, 'busy' was nowhere near a Mexican or Hawaiian beach. Loads of room for everyone. Reasonable price, Excellent value. Would definitely recommend it.

We had an amazing time in Baku's cabin. It was a very comfortable stay. The place is rustic and authentic, we specially loved the smell of wood and the African motifs. Baku was a very great host, ensuring our stay was perfect and giving us some tips about the area.

Communication was good with the host, location is great right across the beach.|We came to celebrate my birthday, on the first look the cabin on the pictures looked cute when we booked it. By arrival the cabin was dark, stingy and dirty, the zebra couch has seen better days as well as the bed, everything was gross and dirty, we looked at each other and left, we didn't feel comfortable, the energy was just weird. |After canceling and talking to the host, he didn't even agree in refunding the money we paid for a place we didn't stay at.|I would strongly suggest some updates.

The cabin in the woods has not changed since our last trip. The bed was super comfortable. Lots of space in the cabin to stretch out and make yourself comfortable. An outdoor shower is great for rinsing after playing at the beach. Access to the beach is directly across from the parking area. Amazing breakfast is brought each morning. |

We recently stayed here for 3 nights,we loved the rustic feel of the cabin, it was warm, comfortable, only a minutes walk to chestermans beach ( which had some amazing sunsets) close enough to town, and the breakfast were amazing- fresh pastries every morning, oj, tea, toast and something Baku would whip up which was always amazing. Plus the bonus of having hummingbirds feed whilst we ate was a great bonus|We would 100% stay here again
