I had a very bad experience today with this centre. I live in Calgary and i needed support because my bills( Electricity and Internet) are scheduled for disconnection on Tuesday. I am deaf and unable to find a Job, i kept applying but employers kept turning me down. And there's a guy called Thejos M, he has been rounding me since yesterday., he wasted my time and in the end he refused to help me. He seems so rude and heartless. Me as a Christian i left this guy to God.

Horrible. The worker claimed she didn't see my abusive parents as abusive and made a racist statement about my parents. The worker, Lubna Sami, was AWFUL. She was unhelpful, condescending, snide, and unclear. She also was in a rush and kept saying she needed to finish the call. Absolutely awful, infuriating experience.

0 STARS!!!!
Absolutely atrocious experience! I waited over an hour and a half on the phone, to be treated with utter disrespect. The agent was unprofessional, didn't answer the phone giving his name, or where i was phoning (company), just a Hello. Then abrupt and rude once I asked about emergency funding. I am currently homeless and just recently went on disability, and have not been paid yet. He went on about a $25 voucher for food, which I clearly stated was not enough for me, I am in an emergency situation where I need actual funds to help me get by. To pay for my bills. He barked at me asking if I wanted it or not.

When I asked him to speak to me with more respect and consideration he hung up on me. This man should not be working in customer service. I had a hard time understanding him as well since he was ESL, I will be phoning to follow up and find out who this person was because it is NOT OK to speak to ANYONE like this.
(Writing this on behalf of a friend, i feel terrible for her. She has been through so much and to be treated without dignity and respect is unacceptable. This by no means has anything to do with racism, yes he had an east Indian accent, but I'm just stating this to better identify him in case others have had a similar experience.)

What a joke! Ive lived in Alberta my entire life. Pay taxes, never use supports and then when I really need support I call the Emergency financial assistance line to be answered by the most condescending girl I have ever spoken to in my life. I can't believe they would actually let someone like this answer the phone. I am disgusted.
The government has already disgusted me and then you top it off with these Karen's on the phone that act like it's their own money.

They can just speak to you how ever they feel like it and get away with it apparently. When they say "abuse will not be tolerated", they mean that as a double standard.

Be warned cause they will make it so you can't complain and make you the problem....

I would have given zero stars if possible.

There are far too many people working at this place. The people that work there are being paid to do nothing. Or they're being paid to turn people away. I went in to schedule a meeting. She says they don't meet people in person. So I specify that I'm looking for resume advice. She says there is only one person available daily for that service, and it's first come, first serve. So come back tomorrow because we close in 45 minutes. This is the only facility listed in Edmonton as "Alberta WORKS", all other locations are Alberta Support. So why is there only one person available daily for work related advice? This is a complete joke of an operation. You might as well close this place as it it not achieving its intention. I imagine it is also consuming taxpayer money. Awful experience and a waste of my time.
