Very cool Bed and Breakfast! Love the history and charm of the place. It is maintained well. The grounds are open to use and very pretty. This property is on a street by the lake. The Owner is sweet and greeted us. We were unfortunately unable to try the breakfast as we had to run out super early but I would still recommend staying here. It was very cute.

It's an old manor so the walls are thin and there are stairs so beware. But that's part of the charm!

There are also added features like the history behind the place, the music recording room, and the period pieces throughout the home. We had a real Emily Carr painting on the wall of our room!

Great piece of Canadiana history and a lovely stay. My only regret was that we did not stay longer to explore.

A dream come true! A place of charm, beauty, grace and old-fashioned kindness. The owner and innkeeper (Mark) was so personable, generous and hospitable that he made the place warm and friendly. His cooking is worth getting out of bed for, the dining room the prettiest, most picturesque of any B&B, and the grounds worth touring. The widow's walk is enclosed and the best place of the mansion to watch a movie or read, windows on all four sides. All the rooms are great and the Coal Baron's room is exquisite, great for a couple or alone, it's like stepping back into old-world aristocracy with all the warmth of home. Perfect for a wedding, perfect for a getaway with your special someone, it is a memory you'll cherish. I give it the highest marks, on a scale of 0 to 3, it's a 25. Thank you, Mark, for making our holiday extra special.

First impressions count, but don’t be fooled.
Arriving at the property driving slowly up the drive way toward a very impressive Victorian home it is evident the gardens and grounds would benefit from a couple of days being manicured by a landscaping professional. The exterior of the home’s appearance could also be improved but accepting that Maritime weather is harsh perhaps next year is the planned refurbishing. But never judge a book by its cover…inside the home is exquisite. Around the guest areas there are many examples of period furniture fitting to its age. The interior had a distinct warmth with a tang of history. Our room was adequate with a bathroom styled in the 40’s and windows that provided a breeze to ventilate and cool the room.
Our breakfast was good and differed each day of our three-day stay. Would like to have found out more about the homes history as originally it may have accommodated servants quarters? We believe there was a period it was a destination restaurant and would have liked to experience the view from the “widows walk”.

I attended a Wessington there. Not sure if the couple were aware or not before booking g but there was a lot of work being done to the place and it looked pretty bad off like it should of been abandoned. Plus there was little parking and the owner didn't want anybody parking on the lawn. In case of emergency and if your car was parked behind others it would make leaving very difficult.

Very beautiful antique home with an amazing yard. Be careful with the electric fences in the far back yard though.
