I find the ingredients and flavors are quite interesting. The pairing of the sauce on the scallop dish made me question what is going on.
After a few bites. It slowly grows on me. The best dish I had was the bun and the squid. I thought those 2 were phenomenal!

This place was perfect for a late night gossip date! We split a bottle of wine, and the scallops and tartar were great! Our server, Jeremy, was a doll! We’ll be back for oysters! If you’re having a full meal and cocktails, be ready to spend a decent amount.

Picked this spot for lunch as it was on my list, opened at lunch and close by my hotel.

My server seemed new as I asked a few questions and they didn't seem aware of what the answers would be. Once I got my food, didn't see anyone come by again until my food was all done. Not sure what happened with my server.

The milk buns were good. I enjoyed them. The grilled squid 🦑 was tasty. The aloi dip was nice. The lime was dry and I couldn't get any juice out of it but otherwise it was a good dish.

They were redoing their mocktail list, so only had soda or two non-alcoholic drinks to pick from, which was a shame. I went to a few spots (Model Milk, Bar Gigi, and Donna Mac) this trip and they all had nice non-alcoholic options.

Ok spot but I'd go back to a few of the other spots I went to on this trip...on my next visit to Calgary.

Absolutely outstanding food!! The restaurant is an intimate size with an open concept bar and kitchen where you can watch the chefs work their magic.
Absolutely loved the oysters, and tortellini but the burrata was another level of delicious!! Definitely give this spot a try.

The food here was original and tasty, the service attentive and friendly, and the ambiance hip and cozy. I looked around at several of the area restaurants which seemed trendier but their menus seemed more generic fusion. At Bar Chouette, I had the cheese soufflé and it was perfect balance of light and fluffy soufflé with heavier calvados cream. The duck pie with sour cherry jus was so tasty I almost ordered another and and grilled maitake with black garlic ketchup was nice and earthy and beautifully presented. Loved the playlist of modern french music and the non-alcoholic riesling was spot on.

First time eating here and we were not disappointed. Staff were extremely attentive and professional. The ambience was perfect and every dish was interesting and delicious. Of special note the Elderflower cake was one of the best desserts I have ever tasted. A perfect blend of flavours with the perfect balance of sweetness. I highly recommend Bar Chouette and will be returning.

One of the best culinary experiences in Calgary! The atmosphere is fantastic, with an interior that perfectly complements the ambiance. The playlist featuring French classics and atmospheric music added a unique touch to our dining experience.

As someone with over 15 years in the hospitality industry, I must highlight Mr. Cullen, our waiter. He exemplifies professionalism and passion for his work, with an impressive knowledge of every dish on the menu. His recommendations were spot-on, and his service truly made our evening memorable. He is really a great professional. We need more like him in Calgary!

We’ll definitely be returning and recommending this restaurant to our friends and any guests visiting Calgary. A big thank you to the entire team for delivering such high-quality service and an excellent dining experience!

We loved the simplicity and style of this restaurant. I took my fiancé here to begin his birthday evening out and we really enjoyed it.

We got the smoked trout paté, le 1608 cheese soufflé, grilled maitake, and the duck pie. We loved all the food, but the duck pie was our favourite. Our only critique was that the cherries that came with the duck pie were better paired with the salad than the duck pie itself. We got very lovely cocktails (Martinique and Yuzu) and chenin white wine. The service was friendly and attentive. It was an excellent experience.

They surprised my fiancé with a little birthday gift of chocolate and a card signed by the staff, which was an especially nice touch.
