We stayed in the two bedroom unit for two nights in August of 2005. The units are very clean and tastefully decorated. They are also fairly new. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. The unit is handicap accessible and has a huge bathroom. There is also a very big above ground pool with a beautiful deck.||From the kitchenettes you have access to a hiking trail that leads into the park and you can also see the ocean through the trees.||What really made this a great place to stay is the hospitality of the owners Michele and Garth. The could not do enough to make sure that our stay was pleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend these kitchenettes to someone who is looking for a relaxing spot that is very clean and comfortable.|

Barracks Cove Kitchenettes in Shelburne, NS was not what I expected after searching the internet for a place to stay with a hot tub outside. The rooms are clean, and the grounds are amazing. Michelle and Garth will do anything that you ask for or to make your stay enjoyable. The hot tub outside was relaxing, could of used the pool but kind of late in the year and cool at the time of our stay. Also we used the games room which has a pool table and a bar fridge to keep your drinks cold as well satelite radio. The rooms were simple, two one bedroom, bath and kitchenette units and one two bedroom, bath and kitchenette unit that is whellchair accessable and very clean and affordable! You also can make a fire in the firepit if you choose to do so. Again we enjoyed our stay at Barracks Cove Kitchenettes!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage in June,2013. Found it on line & felt that it was right for us. We had never been to Shelburne before & fell in love with the area. Lots of history, museums, great restaurants, The cottage was spotless, nicely decorated, everything you need, the owner made us feel very welcome & took time to tell us about the area. The beds are very comfortable, there is an air conditioner ( which we didn't need) as we like to open windows .There is a nice walking trail in back. Barrack's Cove is a great place for families; seniors, & couples. It is only a couple of hours from Halifax & other great areas to visit, so makes a great spot to return to after these outings, or enjoy the lovely grounds & a good book as we did.

Barracks Cove wasn't half bad it was all bad, The place was dirty with mildew all around the sealing and windows and that was from day one. The location is far away from everything in the town. the landlord was never around when I had questions. When it was all said and done they wouldn't give me the damage deposit back and just gave me a veg answer in where it went 300$ for cleaning dishes and 90$ for 1 missing bed sheet. In short Barracks Cove left a bad taste in my mouth and take this as a warning.

We stayed here not long ago. It was ok. Staff was very friendly. Made us feel very welcome and hung out with us in the evening for a fire. Big pool and hot tub that was nice. Cottages are nice size, cute, comfortable. I would recommend this to anybody.

Clean room,quiet setting.Property very neglected.||Had a problem with toilet flushing,went to office at 9a.m.,no answer.At noon got in touch with young fella and asked him to get handle for toilet,said the stores were closed ,which they weren;t.||Asked what we were suppose to do?Answer :what would you do if you were home."?Finally a young lady asked him to run into town and buy one,he did.||no a/c,very hot.Would not return.
