Wow! There is a reason this restaurant has been around over 3 decades! From the minute we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile. Our server Rose was a real delight, helping us navigate the extensive menu, and ensuring our drinks never ran dry. We dont usually have dessert but when they bring the selection to you its impossible to resist. The triple chocolate cake was so good, as was the carrot cake cheesecake. The food is phenominal, from the homemade mozza sticks to the calamari and mussels, everything was fantastic. We plan to work our way through the menu over the course of the year!

The taste of old Italy was amazing at the barrel. Staff were very friendly and service was great! I had the Linguini Pescatore and it was loaded with scallops and shrimp. This dish also came with a caesar salad and bread roll. Local beer from Rambling Road was also on the menu. For dessert I had a chocolate sundae! If you love the taste of Italian food then definitely check out this restaurant! Others in my party had lasagna, stuffed chicken marsala, and ravioli. For dessert others had key lime pie, caramel sundae, and carrot cake which were all excellent! We will be back for sure!

Today I went to the Barrel Restaurant and had a great conversation with Nick Kokkoros. Learned a lot about the amazing history and how much they support our community.

After our conversation for an up and coming article I’m writing. My wife and I had a lunch date. I had to get my personal favourites. The mozzarella sticks that are made in house. The arancini balls. Then I tried their spinach dip for the first time. That was a great idea. The flavour profile of their spinach dip is like nothing anywhere else.

We then got a pepperoni pizza, the in house made lasagna and then I decided to try their chicken souvlaki. The in house made Taziki with the roasted potato that came with it was delicious. I ate all my potato before finishing the chicken. I also got a small Greek salad. You have to eat your vegetables.

I am a frequent customer here. Ordering 2-5 times a month. They’re huge local supporters and that just another reason on top of all the other ones that keep me supporting them.

Thought I would leave a review of our amazing and delicious experience at the Barrel Restaurant in Simcoe, since this was our first time visiting. This quality restaurant was only surpassed, by its excellent service and staff. We were seated quickly and courteously by friendly and welcoming Victoria. She brought our drinks and food promptly and checked in with us, without interfering with our meal. Our server also provided, every request, happily and with professionalism. The food is outstanding and fresh. The portions were excellent value and cost. We will definitely be back! Thank you 🌿

I have ordered food countless times from here over many years..tonights order was far from what I would expect.
Gluten free pizza was suppose to be a cauliflower..and clearly was not..and was thrown in the garbage just at the site of it..mediterranean wrap was dripping wet.so container of food was a complete disaster..I will think twice about ordering thru here again.

Called today to possibly give The Barrel a second go at it..to find out I was given a credit of 40 dollars...paid almost a 100.00. Plus tip to delivery guy,as I always do
Disappointing results to say the least.👍

We took our mother out for Mother's Day, and we had not been here before. I had heard the food was good but did not expect it to be as good as it was! If you love Italian food, this is a great place to bring your family or come for a date. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service was excellent. We will definitely come to Barrel Restaurant again and won't need a special occasion to do so!

I've visited Barrel Restaurant a handful of times over the years...first time probably 30 years ago. Always been an above average experience. Picked up a large pizza today and was not disappointed. Very delicious - fresh and ample toppings and prepared promptly. Also had the mozzarella sticks, they were quite good as well.
