***NE PAS RESERVER DANS CE B&B***||Je déconseille fortement de réserver à ce B&B. Les hôtes sont abusifs, excessivement autoritaires et irrespectueux. Impossible de prendre une douche après 22h: CECI ÉTAIT UNE RÈGLE NON NÉGOCIABLE. Aucun AC, aucune fan offerte en guise d’accommodement. Une seule fenêtre dans la chambre peut s’ouvrir et elle n’a pas de moustiquaire donc bonjour les moustiques et mouches et bien autres choses! ||La chambre est dans un sous-sol vêtu d’un tapis des années 90 donc je déconseille catégoriquement à ceux qui ont des allergies à la poussières ou aux acariens. Le mari de l’hôtesse a même montré du racisme envers nous car nous sommes québécois.||Attention, enlevez vos souliers avant d’entrer. Attention, si vous nettoyer vos sous-vêtements le soir pendant 10 min à 22h, vous allez vous le faire reprocher le lendemain matin aux premières minutes de votre réveil. Attention, si vous demandez une fan, ils vont vous dire que vous êtes les premiers dans leur carrière d’hôte à avoir demander une fan en été pendant le mois d’août… c’est totalement ridicule et insensé de faire cette demande?!!? Attention, vous allez trouver des araignées un peu partout dans l’immeuble et la chambre! ||Si vous avez envie d’avoir l’impression d’habiter dans le sous-sol de vos parents abusifs sous leur règles, leurs caprices et sans liberté, c’est le parfait endroit!!||Toute personne mérite mieux que d’être sous l’emprise de ces hôtes!!!||Nous avons cancelé notre reservation après avoir passée une nuit là-bas après de nombreux appels au service à la clientèle de Booking.com et après avoir perdu une journée entière de mon voyage à trouver une autre place où dormir. ||Maria & Jamil

I recently stayed at an Airbnb and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The host was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The space itself was clean, cozy and had all the amenities I could have asked for. The location was perfect - close to all the major attractions and yet tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The highlight of my stay was definitely the beautiful view, which was a perfect spot to unwind and soak up the sun. Overall, I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay. It truly felt like a home away from home and I can't wait to come back!
Also the food was awesome!!!

I have stayed with Fran and Neil at Beach Estates Inn twice now and the experience is second to none. The accommodations are more than comfortable and very accessible. The grounds surrounding the b&b are spectacular, especially the view of departure bay. Wildlife in the yard was especially nice. The home made food and service is what you would expect at 5 star restaurant. What a wonderful experience as both hosts are excellent conversationalists and Due to the generations of their families in the area are highly knowledgable of what to do and see. I highly recommend staying here.

Very nice house; immaculate and the view of Departure Bay is beautiful. I was in the Casablanca room with a very comfortable double bed; chest of drawers; closet; side tables and huge windows out to the garden. You do share the bathroom w the other guest-room, but I was the only one there 🙂 Regardless, sharing a bathroom is not an issue to me. ||||Fran and Neil were very sweet and I felt very comfortable and was able to relax at the Beach Estates. ||||Though the breakfasts she made for me were all delicious, my favourites were the asparagus and cheese omelette and her French toast w homemade berry sauce were to die for! Fran makes her own jams, which are on sale if you like; they also know the Nanaimo area VERY well (are natives of the area) and have loads of tourism information for you.||||I had five great days visiting my father and spending quiet evenings here. I HIGHLY recommend this Bed and Breakfast.... rates are really good for the high quality you receive.

Its hard to put into adequate words what our experience at Beach Estates Inn was like but I will do my best.||My husband and I are from Calgary and we stayed at Beach Estates for 4 nights. The rooms are clean, quiet, and homey. We shared a bathroom but that was not an issue because it was only with one other room. Breakfasts were amazing!!! Bacon, eggs, toast, fresh fruit, french toast with ham, homemade jams and jellies is just touching the surface of what we had. There was also a constant supply of baked goods for us to help ourselves whenever we wanted. ||The view was beautiful and its just a short walk to the beach.||Fran and Neil are wonderful people and at the end of our trip they felt like friends. Both are friendly and hospitable and will do what they can to make your stay better. They have been here for 19 years and are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us excellent recommendations on where to eat for dinner.|| Neil likes to joke and tease and you have to take what he says with a grain of salt. He has a good heart and my husband a few good chats (and laughs ) with him. Yes, he teased us about being Albertan too but it was all in good fun.He admitted later its only because he is jealous :). I agree that the below negative review is completely unfair and its obvious that those people were the ultra-sensitive types with no sense of humor. ||I highly recommend this place. The prices are a steal from what you get in return; warm genuine hospitality, amazing food, and a quiet place to rest. Oh and the cat Sam is very sweet and always welcomes a good pet :).

We had a very nice time in this guesthouse. ||The house and the guests facilities are beautiful and very clean. The location nearby the ferry terminal was very convenient for our travel plans. ||And our hosts were just great. It was very nice to spend the evening talking and chating with Neil while Fran was serving us her deliciuos home made biscuits. It felt more like visiting a nice aunt than being in a traveler in a guesthouse.

Wow! This is an incredible B&B owned by Fran and Neil. Huge full breakfasts made to order by Fran. Delicious evening snack of home made pastries. Generous hospitality.||They have two bedrooms with a common area where one can have tea and coffee. Outdoor enclosed patio with sofa, table and chairs. The garden has blackberries, raspberries, apple , plum & peach trees, red and green grape vines. Back garden view is of the ferry. This B &B is located within walking distance of the ferry at Departure Bay in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. Neil provides excellent Island information. There is an upstairs area where breakfast is served with a sitting are as well.

We paid for 2 nights and left after 1. The inn itself was quaint, and the area was picturesque. Great idea to have puzzles in the common area. However, the owner's comment they operate the inn like a family was, unfortunately, not a joke. The stated rule that using the shower should not happen after 12 am, became a lecture about using the shower at 11pm the night before, due to the complaint of another guest leaving for a funeral. The "new" rule then became no showering after 9pm. Okay no problem. During breakfast, inappropriate comments about Native Americans and the need for immigrants to learn Canadian customs had me in shock. Very good that I did come for a wedding, or this would have dominant picture that framed my vision of Nanaimo. Liked I said, paid for 2 nights left after 1.
