Found this great place just this past Saturday.We waited the few minutes the extremely friendly cook told me it would take to cook my order.We got the best flavourful juicy burger we have had in years and will be stopping every time we go through to enjoy that
homemade taste !! The mass producers can keep their ready before I order it luke warm re heated gray meat!! This is a burger the way they should be...Great!! All of her family were there that day and all really nice people.Thanks and see you soon.

This place sure knows how to make a classic burger and fries! The fries were golden brown and the perfect crispness. The burger was top notch and definitely home made. It is worth the extra couple of dollars compared to the local fast food places. I would definitely come back.

kids were hungry and stopped there. The fries were soggy for almost 8 dollars you'd think they could get fries right? so here you go. after cutting fries you must soak them for a bit to remove excess starch then you blanch them in oil for a few minutes. rest them on the paper towel then let them cool. when cooled they are ready to be fried at a minimum of 365 but preferably 370 degrees. otherwise, you get soggy lousy fries and upset tummies but hey the cook didn't even wash her hands after her smoke.

The coffee was weak, hash browns tasted like they came out of a McCain hash brown bag and were deep fried. The waitress didn’t ask how we wanted our eggs so we all got the same. I had to get my own silver ware and we got no napkins. For the premium prices they charge, I expected a better dining experience. Won’t be back again.

We stopped n noway back to Calgary impressed with service food was great just recommend fries another couple mi uses in fryer. Understand when buay stuff gets rushed. Buy another fryer but awesome people look forward to eating there again see ya soon

When the Owner threatens to beat up a couple for pulling in for a quick stop to feed their baby, it does not matter how good the food might be.

So why risk purchasing a meal that may taste OK, but leaves you with a bad taste regardless, simply because the Owner is a Big D.

Been to this relaxing road side burger shack a couple of times.
Burgers are excellent. The owners are super nice.
Unfortunately they have the place up for sale.
Go check them out before they sell. You will not be disappointed.

Do NOT bother with this establishment. While travelling from Lethbridge to Calgary my wife and I needed to stop and feed our 2 month old baby. We pulled in and began feeding our baby. After a few minutes a man (I presume the owner) came up to our vehicle, stuck his head in the driver's side window and told us to get off our property. Totally confused and baffled I got very defensive as this guy was quite livid, and told him we were just feeding our baby. He then told me he was going to kick my ass and told me to get out of the vehicle. When I told him we had to get our baby in the carseat and that he needed to get out if the way for us to leave he wound up to punch me. Fortunately for him he didn't go through with it and we left as he chased us out of the parking lot. I think the D in Big D's Burger Shack stands for Douche-bag.
