I recently stayed at Big Meadow Lodge with a group of ladies for a two day retreat. Not only did the host provide a sanctuary for spiritual healing and rejuvenation, she booked me into the Sugar Shack for my stay. This cozy cabin with its antique furniture and wood burning fireplace is truly a place to nurture the soul and reconnect with nature, leaving guests refreshed and inspired. Definitely this is a place to see and an experience to be had! Looking forward to my next visit 😁👍🏻

Then there was a HUMAN head leash in my hut
Wwoofing as a part-time farmhand/ carpenter while i work out of coldlake (primary job).

Then She told me to work full-time on her little houses without pay just so i can have a shelter with no running water.
And no time to stop and eat lunch or make dinner. She walked right in my hut while i was eating. After pre planning, preping roof strapping, and framing endwall ladders n install was done, she tells me to just pack my stuff and leave but to leave my dog since with them!
Then proceeding the next night at 3am VIA text persisting me i should've left my dog with them after kicking me out.

Sure slaves were treated better than that. Experience

We’ve been here 8 months and have enjoyed it. The owner is friendly, accommodating, and down to earth. The suite was clean and ready to move into. You’ll be greeted by Abby, the beautiful and fun-loving dog. Don’t be surprised to find Doug, the community cat, snoozing on your bed after he sneaks past when you open the door, or Moses, the pigeon, walking beside you or riding on your head. You may see sheep and goats mowing the lawns, occasionally checking out your deck, or a goat standing on the picnic table. It’s peaceful here.

We stayed in the Maple Tower, which is an older building, but nicely renovated. The suite had two bedrooms, it was very clean, the furniture was comfortable and it was nicely decorated with big paintings and comfy pillows. Booking was easy, we paid via email and the owner is a very friendly lady, always available to answer our questions. She even helped tow our car that stalled in the driveway. We would definitely stay here again. The farm animals are a bonus if you have kids.

One star is too much!
I never stayed there, I know of a person that did, and they were warned not to stay there. He did and after almost 5 years as being a tenant and many items stolen from his room. He finally left. Yes I would say the owner(s) are shady and do not trust them!

Paid for a month ...left for weekend and she rented my room to someone else and packed my stuff while I was away then moved me and roommate to another place and upped rent 2 times in a week place has water damage black mold and the water stains clothes and shower orange

I’m too nice to put 1 star…. But I would definitely give it a 1 star but I’ll give it a 2 for the heck of it. Stayed there zithers weeks.
•Washroom water leak in ceiling on top of a light bulb. She was kind enough to fix it as it’s a HAZARD! Then it accumulated again after a couple days then apparently was “ok” after that cause she didn’t want to do it again. My wife and 3 year old son had to leave because of it.
•Internet did not work and had to go outside every time I had to use it…. Which was a lot. Might as well slept in the truck.
•washing machine never worked. Said it would be fixed immediately but never got fixed. Summertime, oil and gas worker, trust me I needed a frickin’ washing machine!
•then the topper; in the last week of my stay she called me and changed the price for me to pay for each room (2 bedroom) as opposed to the entire apartment as a whole. She said she made a mistake and that I had to pay otherwise I had to leave. So I had to barter with her so I didn’t have yo pay more money at a Cold Lake or Bonnyville hotel.
It was clean, she was very nice face to face, she tried to work with me on another apartment so kudos to her for that.
In closing I would say steer clear of this place if you can.

Great location, only 10 min from Bonnyville, and 25 min to Cold Lake, also Beaver River is less then half a km away, so many lakes in this area. The Suites are full of charm, fully stocked kitchen was great for our family, eclectic country decor, lots of parking, easy to find, just north of highway 28. Owner is very helpful and welcoming, love the farm animals and relaxed vibe.
