I stayed with Minnie Ann for a week in July 2018. I was there the week of the previous review and I had a completely opposite experience. Minnie Ann is a wonderful host. Her home is lovely and very welcoming. There was no dog smell and the house and room were very clean. Her dogs (She clearly advertises that she has dogs in her add) are really friendly and beautiful. There were many choices for breakfast (cereal, yogurt, cheese, homemade marmalade, fresh cut fruit, good bread etc.). It was a really nice experience and I would highly recommend this B & B.

My husband and I felt from the moment we met Minnie Ann and her two beautiful collie companions Shylo and A.J. that we were staying with a good friend. We were greeted warmly at the door! Our basement room was impeccably decorated, private and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We were a short drive from the sights of St. John's and when we returned home each evening Minnie Ann loved to share in our adventures of the day. We will definitely return to Blue Haven for our next trip to the Rock. Minnie Ann we will keep in touch!

Minnie Ann was the best host ever! She was very kind to us and it felt like staying with a family friend that you’ve known for ever. Her two dogs were a delight. Her home was very clean and she was an honest, caring, and conversational person. Overall the best bead and breakfast we have stayed at to date.

I was here last year at the same time with my husband. I brought my son on a trip and absolutely had to stay at Blue Haven again. Minnie is a fabulous host both warm and welcoming. I enjoy her stories and her desire to know all about our adventures of the day.||||I always read reviews and was disheartened by the one negative review I read. Minnie's house is immaculate. The dogs, which I expected to find greeting us based on the ads and previous reviews, are well groomed, extremely friendly and I'd be hard pressed to find traces of dog hair anywhere. I loved having them greet us every time we returned from an outing. ||||Breakfast is super flexible to your personal schedule of waking time and is plentiful and delicious.||||I really can't imagine anyone having less than a wonderful stay here. Blue Haven will always be a regular stay forus when visiting St. John's area.

Minnie Ann is an absolutely phenomenal hostess. We stayed for four nights and felt completely at home from the moment we walked in the door. The entire home is immaculate, warm, and full of joy, thanks to Minnie Ann and her wonderful, friendly canine assistants. ||We appreciated all of the little touches in both the room and bathroom area, as well as the ability to spend time in the common area downstairs when desired. For us, the location was perfect; St John's was a short drive away, and there were plenty of restaurants, stores, etc. nearby. ||At the end of four nights it was with sadness that we departed as we felt we were leaving good friends. Until next time!||James and Sarah

Our hostess was lovely, super welcoming and helpful. Everything was immaculate and our room was lovely. We had a private bathroom which was huge and beautiful. We also had access to a common area which we had to ourselves as the other room was not booked. Breakfast was continental and customized to our preferences. We had a huge fresh fruit bowl every day and lots of cereal, bagels, croissants, etc. to choose from. The owners collies are very friendly and well behaved. We were a bit concerned that this B&B was quite a ways out of downtown St. John's but this turned out to be not a problem as the roads were good and the drive wasn't long. As well, access to some sights and the airport were better than being downtown.

I have never had cause to write a review like this, but feel that I have a duty to do so.||We rented an ensuite Queen on the ground floor of a nice new house. The hostess asked if we would change to a comparable room. I agreed, not wanting to be difficult. The comparable room turned out to be a double in the cellar; bath down the hall. On arrival, MinnieAnn informed us that she had put us downstairs because she did not want to clean the room we had chosen.||Our hostess greeted us with "I hope you don't mind dogs." We are not dog people, but wanted to be good sports. The dogs are lovely. Large collies, long haired, shedding and rank. The house, which has a lot of thick pile carpet, has a strong smell of dogs. A few minutes in the house, sniffed rather intimately and rubbed by dogs had us covered by dog hair and smelling of dog.||The dog smell was even stronger in the cellar. The dogs ran into our bathroom and bedroom as our hostess showed them to us. The bathroom had a delightful potpouri that was soon overwhelmed by dog. There was a half used bar of soap in the shower, and no wrapped soap at all.|| We found a lint roller for dog hair removal in our bedroom. We could not get the sound to work on the television in the room. We fell asleep listening to the clicking of dog claws on the floor above.||MinnieAnn does not do a big breakfast, which we knew, but, not wishing to be surrounded by large dogs while eating, we chose to leave without breakfast.||We suspect that an inspection by the provincial licensing board might not go well.||In short, Blue Haven is convenient to the airport, but should appeal only to the small number of humans who love big, fragrant dogs.

Sweetest host and so caring! Very clean, new rooms. Quiet neighborhood. Such good food and company. Dog friendly B&B. 10 mins away from airport and St. John's. Seriously recommend it. We cancelled our other bookings and reserved there again for when we returned to St. John's to leave by plane. She has 2 amazing Colleys soooo nice, they love visitors. There's also 2 trails by the ponds close by, you can see one right out the kitchen window.
